To start off I take 150mg of Seroquel and 5 - 10mg Valium and sometimes an Ambian to try to sleep. Nothing is helping, I toss and turn all night and don't get out of bed till at least 11 sometimes as late as 1. I still have pain from the surgery and have a hard time getting comfortable. The dreams are not helping. Last night I a dream about drug use, which brings up a lot from the past and now I can't stop thinking about using. It seems like all the dreams I have been having are real things, the rape, the drugs, my childhood, my kids and it sticks with me all day. That of course is making my depression worse. When I wake up during the night from the dreams they start right back up when I do fall back to sleep. I have taken 300mg Seroquel in the past and also Trazadone that seemed to help better than what I'm on now, I go to the Dr. 03/15 hopefully she can change some things around.

Sorry to hear that. You need your rest! Good sleep is soooooo important.

Until your doctors appointment maybe you can try relaxation tapes, hypnosis, hemi-sync? There is bunches of this stuff made for people whose minds are too restless, or too whatever, and they can't sleep. Can't hurt, may help.

We respond to some sleeping meds/antidepressants differently. Perhaps you're just not reacting well to the Seroquel. Many of these meds cause weird dreams/nightmares. You might ask your doctor about this and see what he says.

Something that helps me sleep are the CD's of nature sounds -- there is a whole packet of them, with sounds of the ocean, rain forest, birds, rain, thunder, etc. They are wonderful and they put me to sleep almost immediately -- and I have a HORRIBLE time getting to sleep as a rule. I'm so glad I have these CD's. You can buy them any place that sells CD's.

I hope you can finally get some rest. Best of luck and God bless. Hugs, Lee
