I'm always tired these days and because it's a holiday I've had more of an excuse to oversleep. The problem is for the past week I've had probably 14-16 hours of sleep a night but I'm still exhausted and aching all over. Part of the reason I don't want to get up in the morning is because it's kind of as if I can run away from my problems if I'm asleep. Though I'm so tired and my head and neck hurt constantly. I also woke up with a migraine yesterday morning which was the sorest I've ever had. I'm not talking any medications and my routine hasn't drastically changed. Nor am I up late at night. What could it be and how do I fix this?

Numpty,
It sounds to me like you are depressed. Sleeping all the time and feeling tired/sore are all symptoms of depression. I would highly suggest that you go see your family doctor who can refer you to a psychiatrist. Family doctors can prescribe you anti-depressant medications, but you may want to see someone who specializes in mental illness just to be sure that you are on the right medication. Counseling or therapy may also be helpful. I know exercise sounds something you might not feel up to, but it can also help your condition. Educating myself helped me get through a depressive episode and it may help you as well. I hope you get the help you need and recover. Best of Luck, Crazyman28 |

I have to agree....I hope you are seeking some help. What you miss out on in life, you can't get back, and I know that I missed out on a lot before dealing with mine the 1st time I was diagnosed. And even more, before being re-evaluated just a few months ago.
Don't put it off!

Furthermore, your aches and pains, especially in your head and neck, could be caused by the amount of time you spend sleeping. I know that if I oversleep, I end up with a headache that medication can't touch. If you're neck is twisted funny when you sleep, that can cause it to cramp and ache.
This is definitely something to talk to your doctor about. If it's not depression, it could be signs of another illness. Good luck!
