My dreams (that I remember) always involve myself, other persons I know, and other persons I do not know that, within my dream, I do know.

My dreams consistently bear a disjointedness about them, taking place somewhere I know, except it's altered & more grandiose usually.
There is Always a force of opposition in one way shape or form.

As a child I dreamed of mainly of witches chasing me through sewers, of a tiny strong-as-stone alien dragging me away, and of my mother passing out at the wheel while we drove on a maze of overpasses with innumerable tornadoes around and about.

Now my dreams generally revolve around myself and a group of people I know ( but don't really know) developing powers and/or forming a team to fight some evil we're in opposition of. They take place anywhere from my school (turned into something similar to a castle in size and detail) to other states, to the ocean, to stadiums in places I've never visited.

I've had a very very abnormal sleep schedule recently as well, sleeping from midnight to 5am then (usually) from 11 to 3.. i don't know much how i got into this sleep schedule but I'm always tired regardless of getting any more sleep (though less significantly worsens it)

Another thing about my dreams (and memories even) is I see them in third-person, behind myself or from some other similar panning frame.

But every now and again I have these different dreams.

Ones where everything is crisp and vivid and Very much realistic, so much so that they become intertwined with my true memory and I may be halfway through recounting the events of said dream before someone stops me to tell me it never happened. I know everyone (in real life too) and everything in them, and where I am and what's going on.

Or ones where I'm emotionally gone, and I more-so watch than participate. (I've had gruesome and horrible dreams in this way that I didn't so much as bat an eye at)

Or ones with nothing but a swelling feeling in my chest (pleasant) and suddenly, If I concentrate, I can fly in them.. and when I wake up from these there is a positively Crushing depression in me because i cannot, in truth fly.. even if I have a mild fear of heights and loathe airplanes.. as odd as that may sound.

Another thing about my dreams that I can't help but feel Is abnormal, if awkward to mention, is that over the 18 years and some months of my life I have only had 2 "wet" dreams, if you will (one of which was with a cartoon crush in middle school as Thoroughly embarrassing as that is to admit)

I don't know how much of this may be odd, or if there's anything to really say about it, but on seeing that there was a dreams section, and having wanted to post Something for days, I figured I would contribute

Well first Silent, remember you are addressing a health issue and that CAN effect even your dreams sometimes.

But the other dreams you are having I would say are pretty normal, however they are probably very vivid because you are very artistically inclined. Also your brain loves to seem to process using that talent as well. And as far as the people in your dreams and kind of being disconnected, that is pretty normal as well in my opinion, can mean a sense of not really trusting or totally understanding them or them not understanding you in your mind.

And your brain DOES like doing cartoon images and you DO work on that so your brain will store stuff there and even draw on that to process what you take in during the day, and that means all that you see, hear, and learn and question during the day, some of which you may not remember thinking.

If you think about what kind of goals you have, where some of your genetic talent lies, your brain is going to store things there. Eventually that YOU in your work will start to take hold as time goes on and your brain is actually working on that a little bit every night. And you are looking at things differently now because you are working on being adult and no longer a child. So those two worlds can intertwine for a while.

For example, my husband?, he is a builder so his dreams are a lot about building and resolving all his daily challenges. LOL, I have to keep a pillow between us because he can throw his arms around as he sometimes is building and hammering in his sleep.

(((Hugs))))

This was more-so a summary of my dreams throughout my life than lately; I don't think my health is doing so much to alter them; they haven't been excessively different lately.
My dreams aren't normally very vivid though, and my thoughts in general, in fact, are very abstract unless I have something to look at and focus on, that's why I listed those realistic dreams when listing my more odd dreams, such as the emotionally absent dreams or the flying ones.

I know in many instances, dreams represent our subconscious in one way or another. From what I've read, the dreams I have indicate feelings that things are being thrust at me and a drive to protect someone.

My goals have influenced my entire life, even if now they come to a clearer point (leaving high school and going to college and getting jobs and such) but in my mind there isn't much difference and hasn't ever been as I grew up. It just seems to be a transitioning from one repetitive world to another.

Perhaps off-topic here but something (I can't even identify what now, but i know something in what you wrote) made me think of aspergers..
My closest friend suggested I may have aspergers recently, he said I reminded him of Savants (I of course laughed that off, as I'm no where near so talented) but it got me thinking.. I've been friends with mentally challenged kids all my life (literally, children with autism and downs syndrome and otherwise I wouldn't derogatorily call people this) I show several of the symptoms of (higher-functioning people with ) aspergers. I asked my mom and she thought the idea was plausible (then told me "Get over it those people have to live on their own and work too" not that I made any type of comment on wanting to stay home or not work >.>"..)

I'm an artist and student but have never had specifically art-related dreams or school oriented dreams (school has only been a location really for other cooler action-y dreams to take place, lol).

Well, I am not a specialist in interpreting dreams, actually Perna is really good at that, I love reading her explainations here sometimes, she is amazing.

My neice has a son that has Asbergers and she knows a lot about Autism/Asbergers.
And one day I was talking to her and she told me that we all have a degree of Autism in us, we are all on the scale, and I didn't know that. It is just that some people have a higher degree of it and as it starts out being diagnosed as autism as children gets older they are then often diagnosed with Asbergers.

Now, I am definitely not an authority on this at all. And as I said my neice has no choice but to learn about this and yes new information is coming out all the time about it as well.

I think what it boils down to Silent is from what I have learned in my life thus far, listening to parents, well unless they are specialists, they only specialize in THEIR opinion which sometimes can be way off and even dismissing. And we have to pay attention to what we know about ourselves and take it upon ourselves to seek professional help. However, that is not always a gaurantee of the correct diagnosis so we have to again take it upon ourselves to get other opinions as well. To err is human and yes, sometimes the professionals even miss things. I know that happened to me and I have come to learn the hard way, be your own advocate and keep asking and investing in your efforts to learn about yourself.
