hi i keep having dreams that my stepdad is like some murderous person, i havent seen him for about 7 years and havent even thought about him for ages. we didnt get on, but he was never abusive towards me (not that i can remember)
He hit my mum, and was perhaps verbally, and emotionally abusive to me. In my dreams im absolutely terrified! This is so confusing, please help

Your subconscious is probably trying to work through the memories of your stepdad. Just because he wasn't physical toward you doesn't mean you don't fear what he did to your mom. The fear may stem from the underlying knowledge that you will be the age your mom was when your stepdad was hitting her. There may also be the fear that you are going to grow up and become your stepdad. Both of these are fairly common considering your circumstances. Don't let your dreams get the better of you. You might look into building your lucid dreaming skills so you can face your dream-stepdad and conquer the fear.
