I dreamed I heard someone being hurt, it was dark and foggy, maybe a graveyard. I fumbled through a back pack trying to put together some sort of weapon, maybe a gun... couldnt fit it together, was panicky.
Then woke up to alarm, but still heard the voice of a woman being hurt, it was now my daughter's voice. I close my eyes, jump back in dream, like this is something I have to do now and quickly. Fear is gone, I'm in lucid mode. Immediately find my daughter with a dark figure over her, she's crying in pain. I smash figure/person over head with an instantly manifested large rock several times. Job is done, I wake up. Feeling satisfied and empowered ![]() |

I don;t think you should consider much about the violence. These days I am getting dreams about what I didn't done in life, and sort of regret in dreams. I have violence and other things in expression but I think it all depends on how you react. It is better to ignore as normal dream.

Ah lucidity - the answer to all of dream's unsolved problems ;P
Violence is simply the subconscious image for conflict. There is a fear for the child part of your personality. Depending on how young your daughter is, this could either be a need for being nurtured (infant through toddler), or simply the carefree innocence as a child unawares regarding the stresses and troubles of adulthood. That it was your daughter could either be because your daughter was actually making noise and your subconscious picked up on it and/or that your daughter relates in your mind to yourself as a child. Chances are a little of both. What catches my attention is the inability for you to fully identify the threat. In the first part, your vision was clouded with fog. You were panicked and fumbling around. In the second part you were simple describing the threat as a "dark figure". Who or what is this figure and where have you seen the same traits and oppression come up in your waking life?

yes - i was thinking about that too - i killed the figure (man/demon/something) but maybe i should've made it face me and tell me what it was... do you think it would've answered? i dont know for sure what it was or represented but knew it needed to die immediately and save my daughter/or the part of me. also i knew i didn't have much time because i would have to wake up soon, lol. thanks ![]() |

It's always about you. The fact that the image was your daughter means it's something easier for your mind to represent through her - something shared between the two of you, or something in her that reminds you of yourself.
The nice thing about lucidity is you can resolve the dream on your terms ![]()

Thought I'd share a connection I made about the unknown obstacle/figure in the dream. I shared with a woman in a post the other day, that I was sexually abused by a guy when I was 15. Then wondered why I was suddenly ok sharing that, I never talk about it... now I know what/who the figure was, and very glad it's dead. healing has happened.
