I'm 55 and up all hours of the night worrying about the problems in my life,
and there are many. And they don't have answers.
I'm alone, no support system.
Not sure what to do...

I am 66, alone and have absolutely NO support system from others that is...How ever I have an EXCELLENT Support system from Within! It is nice to get support from others, but the best support always come from within.

You have common anxiety. If you are experiencing those "What If" worries, it is best to drop them. They usually have nothing to do with reality. Or the probability of the "what ifs" happening are very low, and are not worth worrying about.

Take Risks to defeat those "What If" thoughts. It does work for me. I am in excellent heath, thus I don't have any health worries. High anxiety and worrying enhances poor heath.
Thanks for this!

I hear you. I'm up now (4:30 a.m.) but mostly it is because of physical/medical problems not anxiety but, being up, the anxiety has an opportunity to worm its way into my thoughts, it being quiet and dark.

I try to read a bit before bed so I have something else to think about as I'm falling asleep. That can help some with the anxiety for me.

If you get up, do something creative or that you enjoy. I always get a little snack, comfort food like toast or yogurt, cereal or fruit, etc. I check the temperature, make sure its comfy and then I go back to bed after about an hour and try again to sleep. I'm retired so don't have to get up on a rigid schedule, sleep in an extra couple hours if I've had to get up.

It is rare for me to wake up in the middle of the night and cant go back to sleep. When it happens I do what you do, check the temperature of the room and have snack. If I am worrying about something I need to do on the computer, I go online and take care of it.
