Does anyone else lay in bed, tired, ready to sleep, but can't fall asleep because they are afraid of what tomorrow will bring? That it will be more than you can handle?

i used to worry all the time, even when i had no life to get up for... the slightest change, an appointment, some paperwork, the housekeeper coming, would all be dithered over and interfere with my rest.

since i have been meditating for some time, that has gone away... YAY!

i hope you consider it as an option for calming the brain down, permanently~

Fear of falling asleep

I've been through this. I was panicked, so much so I didn't sleep for 3 weeks, couldn't eat for 3 weeks and lost 30 pounds over those 3 weeks. It was unbearable so I was eventually put on anti-anxiety meds.
I do practice meditation when I'm struggling and it does help. If I can't get my mind to refocus I meditate looking at a flickering candle flame. That usually helps.

I used to more than I do now. I feel like I can relate though, and it's a horrible feeling when you get it . Although I don't meditate like Gus, what I do is slightly similar to meditation. I try to give myself some 'me' time - reading a book, listening to music, knitting - something that's calming and focusses on the present rather than letting my mind wander off into anxiety. It might not be your thing, but if it is, perhaps there might be something similar that you could focus on doing before bed that is neutral/calming? It might help clear your head a bit
