So, I've been having dreams involving snakes and also wolves since I can remember. I don't have happy dreams. I have nightmares, and sleep paralysis. I've started to meditate every day and become better at lucid dreaming so that I can actually wake myself up, but it has only made the dreams more intense and symbolic. When they aren't disturbing and endless, they almost always involve a wolf or a snake. Both of which I have a very strange connection with inside of the dream as well as consciously. I'm kind of babbling now.. so here is one of the most vivid dreams I have recently had about wolves:
I'm outside of some party, by myself near a lot of woods. I look over to see 3 or 4 wolf pups. They came up to me and were playful and sweet, but I sensed danger. Then a gigantic, ghostly looking wolf comes towards me. I'm actually quite terrified at this point (not much actually scares me, but this really did) The eyes of it were the size of tennis balls. One eye was glazed over, sickly looking. While the other eye was a mysterious combination of the darkest, deepest brown, and a never ending black. I was too scared to move, and before I realized how close to me it actually was, I felt as if I was being consumed by its undead eyes. It was literally consuming my very essence...but then, I woke up. *note that this was the only time one had ever threatened me. All other dreams involving these animals are usually what I consider "good" Any thoughts? Interpretations? Possible spiritual familiar? |

Look at the gigantic wolf as being a part of you. It is consuming you. This is an more mysterious aspect of yourself.

Last month I had a dream involving a wolf, and what it represented in my dream was something risky that I was considering in waking life.
Why it took the form of a wolf in my dream was because of the history of wolves. They have always been dangerous to humans, yet from them we bred the dogs that have greatly benefited humans. Therefore the wolf in my dream represented that potential of what I was considering. It had the potential of making things worse for me, but it also had the potential of greatly enhancing my life. Like you, in the dream the wolf was walking towards me and I was afraid. I didn't know if I would be able to get away or not if I ran. The wolf itself was not snarling or anything, so I didn't know what exactly it was planning to do. Do you remember what was going on in your life around the time of that dream? I would think that there is significance to you having seen playful and nice wolf pups while outside the party. If you experience social anxiety (I don't know if you do or not?) it could mean something like you wish to be a part of that play (as in a part of the party), except that those anxieties always block you (the large wolf appearing), making you feel invisible (ghostly) or totally alone and unfulfilled (dead). That would be my own interpretation if I had dreamed it, since I experience social anxiety, but depending on your circumstances it could be totally wrong. However, the wolves in your dreams could represent that potential danger/benefit if they are frequently appearing around certain themes. |
