If you have been depraved of sleep for many years on end, could that be a cause of depression? For many years now I have only slept about 5 hours a night at most. A therapist suggested it's a natural lack of melatonin and that would explain it. I am truly concerned over what effect this has on the mind, if it is prolonged like that. It's been happening for about 7 years.
