I think I might be having paranoid dreams. Case in point: my most recent dream involved me going to my initial sex therapist appointment (which is in actuality next Saturday). I happen to stumble upon someone who always tormented me in school who sees me going in and stands out listening to my session. This piece of s--- decides to tag me on Facebook and post all sorts of harassing and insulting stuff, then somehow gets a hold of my phone number and makes persistent harassing calls, forcing me to file a police report.
I'm truly worried about this sort of dream, that I'm becoming severely paranoid.

Hello, ak482. Do you think your concerns warrant professional intervention?

Dreams are a way of sorting out what has happened to us during the day. As such paranoid dreams probably reflect some of the fears you are dealing with on a daily basis. However, you have an awareness of your situation and are able to identify that this was a dream not real life so you are aware of the boundaries and that can only be good as you can manage these fears. Explain to your sex therapist how anxious you've been in the run up to this appointment, I'm sure (s)he will be able to lay your fears to rest.
