Does anyone on here have trouble sleeping in places other than their own bed, I have always had trouble sleeping in hotel beds. In fact when I went somewhere recently and stayed in a hotel room (sharing my bed with someone else) I got virtually any sleep, fortunately it was only for 1 night and since I have gotten back home I have averaged about 10 hours of sleep a night.

I sometimes do, but now I know to take my own pillow, so that helps a lot.

I think that could have been one of the issues, so when I next go away I will make sure to take it. It won't be at a hotel but rather a beach house and I will have the bed all to myself, I typically don't have much trouble sleeping in beds at beach houses however this will be a pullout couch bed, however I did sleep on one of those before a few years back and didn't have much trouble sleeping on it. I will have to see how it goes.

i don't sleep that great in my own bed, but hotels, friends houses, couches, floors, cars, planes, you name it and i barely sleep at all. i usually do bring my own pillow most places and that helps a little sometimes but i still usually toss and turn and wake frequently. i've never been able to sleep in a car or a plane, which makes road trips and transatlantic flights to visit family horrific.

If I'm allowed to go to bed late I can usually sleep when away (with the help of meds). The bed itself doesn't matter so much but I don't sleep well at one relative's house because there are virtually no doors. I want to close the door and trap it with something that makes a sound if someone opens it.

I'm only comfortable sharing rooms with a few people in my life.

Sometimes I sleep better at another relative's place than at home because it is so quiet where they live, I live in an apartment and there are always some sounds like water pipes, cars etc.

I love my own bed but I can sleep relatively well at a good friend's or a hotel. A stranger's house is another story altogether which is why I usually avoid sleepovers. Also, I have been told I snore which is rather embarrassing so I'd rather just go back to my own space! *eep*

It is normal to feel the way you did when you had to share the bed with some one else.

I think that the problem with me last week is that the person who I shared the bed with snores a lot as well.

Although I do sometimes have trouble sleeping on my own bed as well, last night it took me about 4 hours to fall asleep, fortunately I didn't have to go anywhere this morning and was able to sleep until close to noon.

I have trouble sleeping in hotels and motels. I avoid them as much as possible. Just the thought of being in a room where hundreds if not thousands have slept make me sick.

I've never thought about that

This happened to me last night when I tried to sleep on th futon at the beach house my parent's are renting (I couldn't sleep on it at all although I did go sleep on their bed for a while after they woke up and slept a few hours there) so I told them that I will be returning home tonight rather than spend another night at the beach house as I had planed on doing, it doesn't bother me much because I have already gone to the beach a few other times this year.

I can pretty much sleep anywhere anytime. In fact right now thats one of the reasons i dont mind NOT being able to travel much - why should i pay big bucks just to sleep somewhere else? If i can ever improve my health enough to where i am awake more than i am asleep any given day... otherwise geez its like taking a cat on a cruise.
