Last night, I tried going to bed early, but I still couldn't sleep.

Eventually, I had to take a sleep formula pill.

I've had to take a sleep formula pill for the last three nights.

Am I an insomniac?

Hello, Longhornsfan78, and welcome to Psych Central! I would think that you would need to have a longer history of not sleeping to get the label "insomniac." If it continues, then I suggest you see your regular doctor about it. Also, here's an article about ways to get to sleep:
http://helpguide.org/life/sleep_tips.htm.

I hope you can get back to having a good night's sleep soon. Your problem might be trying to go to bed before your body is ready.

Yesterday, I tried exercise.

I was so tired that I dozed off before my bedtime TWICE.

I took a melatonin because I was worried about my sleep schedule.

I've had to take one at least once a month since my freshman year in high school.
