I'm curious what other people will think of this dream, just for fun...

I was at a woman's house, this woman is like a mother figure to me. In real life she is not very well off, but in my dream she lived in a huge mansion. She was with some people in a hot tub and asked me to get her 3 cokes from a refrigerator in her bathroom. When I went into the bathroom I heard running water, and noticed she had at least 8 shower rooms with shower heads everywhere and even lounge chairs spouting water. I thought I should help her turn them off since no one was using them. I was struggling to do this, I would get one off and another would come on, but also had some success... after much struggle I finally managed to get all but one room shut off. Then a man came in and said he would help me with the last one, that I should get back to the woman, so I did.

Later in the dream I was driving through a forest in the middle of nowhere. The trees were huge, and suddenly turned gray and quite scary. Then there was suddenly a neighborhood of huge houses, with nice but scary gray facades. They were all massive gray mansions. I went in a house, I assume it was mine, but there was no furniture. In one room there was a huge window and I was blinded by the setting sunlight because there was no shade in the window. In the next room there were no windows. I didn't feel comfortable so I went to the front porch. All the neighbors were on their porches as well, cooking dinner on bunsen burners. I thought how sad it was that with all these families so close by, yet all in the middle of nowhere as we were, that we were all isolated to our own porches. I wondered why anyone would move so far out to live in a big piece of crap mansion, and I longed to meet the neighbors, but yet I couldn't dare walk over to them.

Wow, Petra5ed... I'm not into dream interpretation, although I do find them so interesting. So I couldn't say what this dream might be all about. But it sounds as though it must have been interesting. I'm hoping some other PC members who are into dream interpretation, will offer their insights & I'll have the opportunity, along with you, to read what they have to say. Thanks for posting this!

I'm curious to know about this one too! Oddly enough I've had recurring dreams about being in huge houses or mansions, some run down & need repairs & some are beautiful. Every time I somehow know they're mine. And some have more rooms than I ever use. What really caught my attention about your dream is the bathroom & the showers running! I had a dream not to long ago that I was at this house (for reasons unknown) & I want to say there was a woman & her son there. I asked to use the restroom & they said ok. For some reason I already knew where it was even though I'd never been there before. When I went in, there were stall like rooms. I turned on a switch thinking it was the light to the room where the toilet was, & a bunch of showers came on. I couldn't figure out which switch turned them off!
As I walked through the room, still trying to locate the toilet, I noticed that there were several showers and they were all on. Embarrassed, I walked out & told them what had happened.
I've had these "house/mansion" dreams for many years, and have always wondered why. In a couple of them I even remember the same house from another dream. Like, I'll be moving in & say to my family, "do you remember the dream I had about the house? This is it! This is the one!" And in my dream I think I'm actually moving into my "dream house".

Hi Petra5ed,

Let me just preface by saying I'm by no means an expert or even well read on this topic. But I can't help but wonder, is there something you would like to be able to help this woman with IRL, that is too big in some way for you to take on? That's what I'm thinking with the water, with you running around trying to turn off all these fixtures.. seems almost like it could be related to money, you're trying to help her conserve, but it's too much for you to do alone. Could be anything though, not necessarily related to money.. it sounds like you felt both responsible or wanting to help, and also somewhat helpless in her big "house", in her world..

The second part seems very separate to me, and as though it is more individually about you.. you are searching for something, trying to find what's yours.. it seems like a dream about progress to me, in which there is something you are looking for, but accepting that there is a road ahead still, more exploration..

they're all about resolution these dreams, I think. We make sense in our dreams of what is happening in our days..

Or I could be completely wrong, about all of it! In any event, I hope you find all that you seek.

About the woman, you are right that there are several things actually I'd like to help her with IRL that I cant. She has advanced stage cancer, and we are both grieving the loss of someone close to us both from a few years ago. Seems like you might know more than you think! Maybe I am trying to help her conserve life...

I'm glad you see the second part as related to progress. I was worried it might mean I am fake, a big empty mansion with nothing inside... but maybe it means I am building and looking for things to furnish my house with. That seems less sad. Thanks.
Hugs from:

The Mansion may mean you are feeling isolated in real life. Each part of you may be into itself and not yet intergrated. Each one doing its own thing over a bunson burner.

The shower does relate to your feelings in real life about your friend.

I have another theory.....
Maybe not being able to turn of the water represents- frustrating ourselves trying to stop the "flood" of problems we are facing.
And the mansions represent- a "wealth" of POTENTIAL
And the "emptiness" & the unused rooms- are a sign that we have not yet reached our full potential, & that there is still "room"to grow.
And in your case, maybe seeing others "so far out" (so far away from reaching their own potentials)
And "on their own porches"- (limiting themselves to what they already have & not reaching out to new things).

Hi, dream interpretation is something I am really into.
I have analysed my dreams for over 15 years, and I am not an expert, but apart from something having a personal meaning for you( ie flowers and your parents owned a florists etc) usually things have a general meaning for everyone.
So, to get to the point, water is emotions. Like Alone and Confused said ^ , probably you are concerned that you can' stop your emotions.
Water can also mean 'cleansing',as can bathrooms.
Houses usually represent ourselves. Sounds like you feel alienated as you look out onto neighbours in gardens hope this helps.
