Hey friends

I'm currently working on my attempted goal of finishing my Master's thesis before I reach the age of 30 & here goes my first problem bumping on me just less than a week from starting my goal... as usual... OVERSLEEPING

I know that all my life conditions help me oversleep, like depression, loneliness, being a hermit, boredom, not working... etc. But I still wanna fix this!

I mean I said to myself I'll always wake up at 7am everyday of the week (even weekends), sleep one hour after midday, & go to sleep 11:30pm.

But when I start studying in the morning I always get sleepy, & sleep over my papers, so I usually sleep from breakfast to midday, & so I get SO DEPRESSED that I overslept, so I again sleep 4 or 5 hours at the afternoon, & then sleep at 11:30pm. So I don't study & have enough time to finish my thesis & reach my attended goal!

What can I do?!

I would set a timer to either remind myself to take a break or wake me up. When the timer goes off get up and walk around then settle back down to study and set the timer again. Maybe set it for every 30 minutes or an hour to give yourself a break. Walking around should help you wake up and stretch. I hope this helps. It's the only thing I could come up with that might work on me.

Honestly, I can't do naps. Naps really mess me up. I can't imagine sleeping or taking a nap midday. That throws off my internal clock so much. This could be your problem. Perhaps you are sleeping during the day, then when you sleep at 11 pm you don't really have a normal sleep cycle throughout the night causing you to be even more tired in the morning, which leaves you feeling like you need a nap, and the cycle continues.
Try to cut out midday naps, do not fall asleep during the day. Go to sleep at an earlier time than 11 pm at night, try to stick to a normal sleep schedule like from 10 pm to 7 am, no day naps!

Thanks a lot for the advice gayleggg & CosmicRose... ♥

To gayleggg: Ok, that's a really cool idea, I'm gonna try it. I'm gonna try put a timer near me & do it. Thanks a lot for this idea Hope that it works this time.

To CosmicRose: I tried skipping the nap hour during the day, but I found out that on the contrary the nap hour keeps me refreshed for the rest of the day & when I sleep at night, I sleep well, I don't have problems in that. But when I don't get the nap hour, I really become so tired & sleepy for the rest of the afternoon! Perhaps it depends on our different physiological/psychological needs
