Hi I constantly dream of my ex husband. I haven't seen him in years. We have been apart for 25 years. It was an abusive hurtful marriage. It took me a long time to get over it. Its funny because I never think of him in the day but my nights are filled with him. The dreams are all different. I have no wish to see him again. But it bothers me that he is in my dreams. I don't understand it. Has anyone got any ideas. Thank you.

It might be helpful to share some of the dreams here. I do not have much to go on right now.

Thanks Thunder Bow. I don't remember the dreams really. Just remember I steamed about him. The main question is why would dream about someone I never give a thought to during my waking life and haven't seen in years.

Often, people we meet in dreams symbolize a part of ourselves. The unconscious, the dream self, is trying to draw your attention to this part of yourself who has attributes similar to your ex-husband. Sometimes dreams "turn up the volume" if the dream self feels the waking self isn't getting the message, hence your nights being filled with him. So perhaps in some ways you are thinking or acting like your ex-husband and you need to discover this consciously and come to terms with it.

He is gone, but not the feelings. Dreams are all about feelings.
