With the weekend comes my post here apparently. Last night I had a strange dream. I was sitting in the kitchen holding a deck of cards not very unlike a tarot deck, only this one could be used to call demons with. I shuffled the cards and probably did some sort of prayer - I don't remember this part so it's not reliable - and then my mother comes in, sees the cards, takes them from me and starts yelling. It wasn't until then that I noticed a round object, like a trash can top, with some digits and directions written on it. It was something like "1 ->, 2 <-" etc., probably I was supposed to rotate the cards accordingly or something like that. I notice outside the sky was dark, but not as in night sky, it looked more as if a storm was coming, and went to my room where I saw the deck placed on some books of mine. Then I started to feel afraid and prayed for whatever I summoned into the house to go away.
That would be all, I apollogize for the mistakes made and incoherence. Thank you! |

Feeling of guilt and judgement. Also a storm is coming. The demons are under current feelings you have. Maybe those of power and personal strength. You might feel guilty around that.

Power and personal strength? Can you, please, be more specific about that? I want to make sure I am totally comprehending.

You summoned feelings from within your self. Looks like you summoned your yelling mother, or what I call your critical self. You placed your deck (all your cards) on wisdom. The coming storm is your power.

We have these dreams, some feel forboding. I don't think you should feel such concern, as if you "summoned" a demon. Just enjoy your dreams for what they are: our subconscious exercising the creativity within us. No demos are coming to get you!

I see, it is not what I expected it to be at all! I am now waiting forward for that storm. Thank you, again!
@seeker1950 Now I know I am safe! I usually get weird or dark dreams, so it can't unsettle me very much. |

In the order of events, it's after your mother scolds you that you start to feel afraid and pray to remove the demon. Perhaps the demon summoning represents your true feelings or power, and there is a conflict with your mother that prevents you from staying with your feelings.

Not with my mother, rather with the outside world

Do you mean you are consciously aware of some conflict with the outside world that prevents you from staying with your feelings?

I've had dreams similar to that but not recently.
One dream I had in 1978 or '79: That there were two of me, one of me was laying on my bed, possessed by a demon, looking really gross, shaking and scared and inside wanting help; the other "me" was kneeling over my bed and praying for myself (the me on the bed). A few months later, I dreamed that there were two of me again. Same thing, I was possessed by a demon. But instead of praying this time, I was huddled in a corner violently shaking in fear, while the "possessed me" was flying around all over the room in a rage, screaming out all kinds of horrific things. Within that same year, I dreamt that a little four old boy I knew was possessed. I was the only one who could do anything about it. His family and mine all tried everything. The only thing that worked was for me to have him lay on my lap while I rocked him and sang to him about God and love. The devil would leave for a while, then come back, and I'd have to do it again. Finally, the little boy was so wiped out and sick from it, that we had to take him to the doctors. While my brother in law was driving, I was in the back seat with the little boy on my lap sleeping. I was stroking his hair and face. The demon started to enter him again, but right away, I started singing and it left. I was 16 at the time of these dreams.

@mike In a way, yes. Sometimes, quite often actually, I feel like the whole world, including the Universe, is against me and that I am 'allowed' to make a wish or hope something only to be disappointed soon. I know that there are people much more miserable than me, but I can't help feeling overwhelmed and depressed. I am disappointed with the world, the people I know, the way my life goes, pretty much with everything, and when I try to make some changes it turns out that it's not working the way I want it (neither does it work better, only worse), as if the Universe is making stupid jokes only to mock me, or 'test' me.
@shortandcute Well, that seems really frightening! Did you later find out its meaning, or did something happened in your life following the dream? |

I believe that dreams are a message from the unconscious that is trying to help us by making us aware of things that for the moment are sitting outside our conscious awareness. This feeling you have of the entire universe being against you is a conscious or ego-based orientation. But the dream wants to give you a more specific message, I believe, that is meant to help you move forward.
What I observe in the dream is that it is after your mother scolds you that you regret summoning the demon. This suggests that it's something about your relationship with your mother that prevents you from staying with your feelings. It is up to you to decide if that interpretation feels right, but I will just note that the dream is not saying the same thing as your conscious orientation. There is nothing in the dream about the entire universe being set against you. |
