Last night's dream had to have meant something. I kind of have a weird feeling about this one :/
I remember being in a theater of some sort and watching a friend of mine dance (I think it was this guy I like. If it wasn't, it looked exactly like him). He was really good at dancing... However, what was extremely noticeable, was the strings above him. He was like a puppet... But I couldn't see anyone controlling him as the strings disappeared above the stage. After his performance, he came and sat down in the crowd. I sat there feeling odd about what I had just seen... only to look at where he was sitting and watch him turn around in his seat and stare at me. He wasn't day dreaming or anything, just staring at me. I couldn't tell why... What in the world does any of this mean? |

Maybe you feel you are being controlled in a real life situation. That is why he was staring at you. He represents a part of you that is being controlled.

Can you say something about your life circumstances? How old are you? Are you a student? Are you living at home or on your own or with roommates?
Can you say more about this guy, his personality, and what you like about him? |

Well, I'm 19 years old and currently going to attend community college in the fall (I'm starting my second semester of freshman year). I have anxiety, depression and other medical problems that I won't go on about and am currently living at home with my parents until I can find a decent job that will work with my frail body. I'm single and looking and as silly and stupid as this might sound, I'm quite sad about it... Of course this does not go well with anxiety. Due to anxiety, I only have a few close friends and prefer not to have a ton of them (less drama).
As for this guy that I like, I've liked him for over 3 years (yeah he's got a girlfriend but I don't intend to do anything) and I have a reason to like him. I won't go into too much about the whole situation, but I will say this: I was going through a very difficult time in my life and he was the first person to take notice and actually successfully get me through it. The day I was going to come forth and tell him about my feelings, he got with his gf. If I could send ya a private message, I will gladly tell you more. But I won't since this is public ^.^" |

You can PM me, that would be good to find out more details.
My thought right now is that this guy is not fully alive. He is not able to "animate" himself. He needs strings to control his movements, and when he stares at you he seems unable to come up with his own facial expressions or words. He could represent the "masculine within." In this case the dream is saying that your masculine qualities which normally would be integrated with your personality are unable to express themselves... they are lying dormant or are highly controlled by something in your psyche. I could perhaps be more specific if you PM me. |

Another possible interpretation, although not necessarily correct, is that what you feel and think about him may not be grounded in reality (since he turned out to dance as a puppet), such as wanting to admit your feelings to him but finding out he got with a girl, which may have ungrounded what you thought you knew about him. Or, maybe what you think about him and what you experience when you're with him can be very different. The fact that you noticed the strings attached to him over time might represent how you feel his actions might be "faked," or maybe it represents that you worry that what you experience when you're with him are through rose-tinted glasses, and not always reciprocated feeilngs. Or, maybe it's a sign from your mind that you should move on from him since your feelings for him are only felt by you. Another thing to consider is the environment it took place in and what it meant to you, and what it represented for your friend dancing on stage. Theaters are for entertainment in real life, but did you enjoy the setting, or was it kind of creepy?
Sometimes I think our mind might bring up a similar experience to current difficulties as a dream in order to work through it. Maybe your mind had you have this dream since you mentioned feeling sad about searching for a relationship. But, it could be about you in other ways. When I see someone in a dream staring at me intently, sometimes it feels like my subconscious trying to communicate something to me, like the staring is it telling me not to forget what I've seen or learned, or that I should understand something. |

By him just starring at you, it could be he's waiting for you to make the next move. That you feel you should do something.

There are "strings attached" to this person; I would think of this young man as a brother, not a lover. You need to tell him this (his staring intently at you).
