I keep having dreams about my first husband who died in 1997. We were not together when he died. I had left him. I keep having dreams that I am trying to help him and am wondering if he is being helped by what I do for him. I can't recall what I did for him in the dream but in real life I tried to help him, too.

In the dream, how are you helping him? What are you doing?

I visited him in prison and wrote to him every day he was there and sent him some money. I tried to point him in the right direction even though he didn't listen much. I took care of him as his wife. I cared about him so much and he knew it.

You done a good thing for him. The dream is telling you that you are trying to do the same thing for yourself as well.

Do you think that, perhaps, feelings of guilt are resurfacing? Does a small part of you wonder if the help you gave was sufficient?

In real life I did have some guilt feeling concerning our relationship and how he turned Schitzophrenic. I thought it was my fault. I worked through those feelings with a therapist. I also really enjoy the dreams about him. I guess you could say I miss him.
