Insomnia is a common symptom to at least 2 of your diagnoses on your About Me page. I deal with it in my BPD.

Strict waking/sleeping routines help. You might try melatonin, too. It's not a heavy medication, but it might be the little push your body needs at night to calm to sleep mode.

Try extended release melatonin, then. It's a little more expensive, but the point is that it prevents waking up early.

Most meds are designed to -put- a person to sleep. Extended release just means that the pill solution is designed to delay absorption, so that it effects the body later on in the night.

You can also add melatonin with another medication (approved by the doctor), if necessary. Just an idea o_-

Before I got on olanzapine (which totally rebooted and kickstarted my sleeping patterns) I would take sleep meds, lay awake for a couple of hours, fall asleep for (if I were lucky) 2 hours, wake, take another dose of sleep meds, lay awake for another couple of hours, and fall asleep for (if I were lucky) another 2 hrs.

Maybe you could do something like that, too? Take another dose when you wake up?
Thanks for this!
