Turns out I have Exploding Head Syndrome. It's not as gruesome as it sounds, but it's gotten so bad that I wish my head would just explode so I can FINALLY get some rest!

It's not helpful at all that most of the websites and latest information I've found describe it as a "benign" phenomenon, one that many people "laugh off" as though they didn't just crap their pants from the sound of cannon going off next to their beds. I wish I had *their* problems!

In my case, it's gotten so bad that I am terrified to go to sleep. It has only made it worse that I fear sleep because of my terrible, vivid, recurrent nightmares (see my thread "Make it stop." Too tired to link; sorry.)

I'm just afraid this is one of those things that is worse because I'm not getting any rest, but if I try to rest, it's a vicious cycle. I *know* I need help; I have no idea where to turn.

This due to anxiety, best to turn to a doctor or therapist about this.
