Has anyone heard of exploding head syndrome? It is where you hear these loud noises in your head when going to bed or waking up.

I have had this a few times while waking up and just recently read what the name was.

I have heard firecrackers, crashes, cymbals, and one time I heard a patriotic song.

I heard it is really rare but I don't know if I believe that. It seems to have gone away since sleeping on the other side of the bed so the sun is not in my face.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I've only seen a bright light and heard like an explosion. I thought some kind of bomb had gone off. I had it more in my teens but some in my early adulthood as well.

It happens to me sometimes. Usually it's just loud, noise.. Not sure what to call it, lots of random noises at once. A few times I heard a loud voice, and once it sounded like maybe our door got kicked in. Very annoying. I think it happens more when I'm very stressed or have a messed up sleep schedule.
I also don't think it's very rare, quite a few people experience this at least once, but no most people don't have this frequently.
