I had a dream that I was the pilot of a boeing 747 aircraft carrying over 300 people on board. A casual friend, who I basically lost contact with, was the copilot. We began our takeoff roll down the runway. Our flight path was taking us over the ocean. Everything seemed normal at first untill we lifted off.

The plane made a sudden sharp ascent, almost vertically into the air but then corrected itself. We climbed to a cruising altitude of 40,000 feet and discussing if we should turn back. Right at that moment there was a sudden thumping noise, jerking movements of the aircraft, followed by a sudden roll over.

The inversion was rectified and regained control. We were just starting to declare an emerancy when there was a much louder bang, by a more violent jerk of the aircraft and a sudden, almost vertical dive towards the ocean.

Emergancy and warning alarms went off in the cockpit and we tried everything we could to rectify the problem, including using speed breaks and the landing gear as drag to slow the dive. Then I saw the aircraft from a birds eye view just as it started to go inverted and spiral out of control. Then I saw a view of the cabin, where another bang followed by a massive explosion had occurred.

Parts of the plane, including the roof, ripped off the fuselage. Oxygen masks were deployed but were useless. It went back to me and my friend trying to regain control. By now, we were decending below 20,000 feet. There was yet another bang and jerking movements.

The plane rolled back upright, but then did a third roll over. I had one last birds eye view of the cabin, which was being ripped apart and on fire. Also another view of the plane spiraling out of control showed it irreversably damaged and out of control. The dream ended with me and my friend still trying regain control with the plane under 5,000 above the ocean. A mayday was declared but it was too late.

Then everything went black. It was unknown what caused the explosions but it was known, after the crash, that the horizontal stabalizer had failed, forcing the plane into a irreversable dive and spiral towards the ocean. No one survived. I woke up feeling really anxious.

Not sure what this kind of dream could represent. Don't know if it had to do with anxieties or something else. Not sure if these kinds of dreams represent emotions of some sort or represent something that is going on, whether it is good or bad.

You feel that things are now spinning out of control in your waking life. That what your anxiety may be about.

Wow, what an intricate & detailed dream. Do you know how to fly or know about planes? It reads like a story or the script to a movie. Sounds utterly terrifying though. The only thing I know about dreams is that when I have bad ones it means there's stress & anxiety in my life.
Thanks for this!

No I don't fly, I do know a bit about planes since I've watched documentaries involving them so I know quite a few basics. But yeah I don't fly though. I do tend to have very vivid bad dreams though. Doesn't happen too often but when it does, they are vivid.

Even though it seems like a lot was going on in the dream, it was actually rather short, but still had lots of stuff happening and jarring at the same time though. And in these vivid dreams, I can usually remember every detail. I agree, bad dreams usually come from fears, stress, anxieties, and emotional turnmoil.

Hi,
What a cool dream! You have excellent dream recall ability for which you should be complimented on!

I have learnt from my own dreams how much learning is available to me about myself from a single dream scene. I am willing to interpret your dream as if it was mine if you would do the following...

I want you to go back to your dream and place yourself in the role of an observer. Then I want you to answer the following questions, to the best of your dream recall ability...

FOR EACH SCENE I want you to tell me the following:

Location:
I want you to look in your mind, as the observer, in the following directions and tell me what you see:
1. To your left.
2. To your right.
3. In front of you.
4. Behind you.
5. Above you.
6. Below you.

It’s all right if you can’t recall much. Simply tell me what you see and make sure I know what direction it is from you the dreamer. In my interpretation, you’ll see how this is a symbol itself.

When you are describing what you see, tell me in as much detail as you can recall about it. So things I am very interested in is what are walls, doors, windows, stairs, tables, etc. made of, age/style, colour, etc. The same goes for anything outside. You’ll see in my interpretations how all of this tells us lots about ourselves.

Lighting:
1. Tell me what the lighting was like, i.e. bright, dull, black, cloudy etc.
2. Then tell me where the light was coming from.
3. Can you tell the time of day or season?
Lighting is important in a dream because it’s a symbol of vibrational state. I’ll explain this during my interpretation for you.

Objects:
If there are any objects in a dream scene, then tell me about them as follows:
1. Shape, size, colour and what they were made of.
2. Where the object is in the dream relative to you, i.e. left, right, etc.

I’ve found objects in dreams are usually symbols of things we first need to concentrate on spiritually. I’ll explain this in the interpretation if you had any objects in any of the scenes.

People:
For each person in a dream scene I want you to do the following:
1. Describe them to me in as much detail as you can recall. This includes age, gender, clothes, colour of the clothes, what the clothes were made of.
2. Tell me where they were in the dream scene relative to you, i.e. left, right, below, etc.
3. Tell me if they were lying down, sitting, standing, walking, etc.
4. Tell me what they did with you. Don’t skip the details. Simply tell me exactly what happened.
5. If there are any conversations or thoughts between you and the person or others, then tell me EXACTLY WHAT WAS SAID. This is important.
6. If there were others you couldn’t see but felt, then let me know where you felt they were in a scene relative to you the dreamer, i.e. left, right, etc.

Animals. Etc.:
If there were any animals, insects, birds, reptiles, fish or whatever in any of the scenes, then tell me. Describe them in as great as detail as you can recall. Also let me know where they were in the dream scene relative to you, i.e. left, right, etc. Then let me know of any thoughts that passed between you and them.

Thoughts/Feelings:
This is a very important part of every dream scene. Take your time, go back and tell me the following for each scene:
1. What was your first thought/feeling as the dream scene began.
2. Tell me of any thoughts/feeling changes as the dream scene progressed and let me know where in the scene this occurred.
3. Tell me your last thought/feeling as the dream ended.

I realize this is a lot of work. HOWEVER, I think you might be surprised at how much learning there is for you in one single dream scene.

With kind regards,
Guy

I'll try to answer as best as I can, although I don't really remember small details. In terms of the location, it took place in a boeing 747 aircraft on the runway beginning our take off roll. I was the pilot and a casual ex-friend was the co-pilot and obviously we were both in the cockpit. We took off into the sky which was somewhat cloudy and the sun was setting a bit, sort of a twilight. When the disaster began, I saw, from a birds eye view, the plane in a extreme nose down position and going inverted due to a jammed stabilizer. I also saw fire from the explosions and every so often, saw the altitude showing a rapid decent.

The objects were the same as you would typically find in an airplane. There were no animals. There were over 300 passengers on board. All of them were dressed in casual attire. Once we took off, we had a short conversation about the abnormal take off. I mentioned that the plane had ascended too quickly and the incline was way too steep, almost vertical in the air. My friend agreed but then we both managed to get in control. After the plane rolled over the first time right before the dive, she mentioned that was abnormal and we should turn back. I agreed. Then that's when the stabilizer failed.

Once the dive began, I declared an emergency and we both tried to stop the dive. Also we kept on naming things we should do, such as deploying speed brakes, lowering the landing gear, and dumping fuel in order to slow the dive and try to lessen the severity of impact. She called out a mayday at the end of the dream. In terms of how I felt, I felt okay in the beginning when we were still on the ground. I didn't feel anxious or alarmed until we actually started flying in the air and ascending almost vertically. When we rolled over the first time, I felt extremely panicked but remained calm.

When the stabilizer failed and the plane went into an inverted dive, I felt extremely scared, anxious, and hopeless. During the few split second moments of seeing the plane from a birds eye view, I stared in complete shock and horror as the plane went inverted, the roof ripped apart from the fuselage after an explosion tore through the plane. Seeing people being ejected out of the aircraft and some burning in their seats. Some tried to use oxygen masks but were unsuccessful. The last feeling I felt was horror as I realized there was no saving the plane since it was too close to the ground and badly damaged. I just accepted my fate, but at the same time, me and my friend were both determined to try to get the plane under control until we made impact with the ground.
