So for the past couple of year my sleep schedule has been less then ideal. Right now I work the sight shift 3 days a week if that helps anything. But my sleep can usually range anywhere from 5-12 hours and then oftentimes I can either take more naps throughout the day or go a whole 24 hours without sleep (which is happening right now, 6 more hours to go) I seem to be pretty much always tired. I don't know how to fix my sleep schedule due to the fact that sleepiness seems to overtake me at times. Any way to fix this and start to get a better sleep schedule?

Do you have school in the morning? If you are just working, you can sleep at day and work at night. Otherwise, you need to change your working hours. Can you find other jobs? Deprived of sleep isn't good. When I do it I feel I'm not in my full cognitive capacity, and probably it's dangerous to drive in that state.

You may need some self discipline! Have a light meal after your night shift and have a 5/6 hour sleep. Have a short nap, or relax for a few minutes before you start your shift. Try to avoid going without sleep for 24 hours. Your body never catches up with the lack of sleep and you may feel tired even after a week. |

Here's a good site on sleep disorders and what hints on what helps others with night shift work: https://sleepfoundation.org/sleep-to...-shift-workers
