I understand completely! I went thru that quite a few years ago now. not something I would ever wish upon anyone! it down right s**ks!! it's a horrible feeling, when all you want to do is sleep and you can't!
![]() try asking your doc about it and see what they have to say. maybe they can come up with something to help. ![]() I had problems with sleeping for months about 1 1/2 years ago, but that was because I had a three-inch laceration on the back of my head! and my body's so banged up now that I just roll back and forth from one side to the other. at least when I do that, I can mostly stay or go back to sleep. but for me, I have troubles falling asleep. so I listen to music or have the tv on. (I have a show on DVR that I play, meaning I've heard it enough times it's just background noise - same with the cds I use for music) years ago, I had a rule - if I was still awake at the end of the cd (which was roughly an hour long), I would get up and do some thing for a while. then I would try sleeping again after that. thankfully I'm so d**n exhausted these days, that I can barely go 24-30 hours without falling asleep. and I don't try to change my sleeping hours or patterns cuz I never want to go back to not being able to sleep!!! ![]() good luck with it! and if you need to chat more about this or want to message someone who's awake when you are, feel free to hit me up. |

I too am dealing with a similar problem. Lately I struggle falling asleep, and then when I do it seems like I wake up after only a couple of hours. Basically it's just an endless loop of me trying to fall asleep then waking right back up. I've tried herbal supplements which didn't work. I've tried various relaxation methods which didn't work. I've tried to exercise before sleeping in hopes that it would make me tired, but that didn't work either. Things like listening to music don't help because they keep me awake. I've even mildly abused night time cold medicines that are supposed to make you drowsy, but that also didn't work. I'm afraid to try anything I might become addicted to, so I avoid things like sleeping pills though I may get desperate enough to try.
Good luck with finding a solution to it, and feel free to message me if you need someone to chat with. |

I also have a idea for you I need r shoulder replacement surgery. I take no pain meds I found sleeping in a recliner doesn't allow me to roll . I took the clock out of the room and now when I wake up I tell myself I have to stay in the recliner until it starts to get light sometimes I fall in and out of sleep other times I cant sleep. Thank you

Hello
Thank you for the reply's. Progressive muscle relaxation has helped me a lot. It never makes me tired and feel better afterward. I used it at work to make me aware just how tense I am. My meds were just changed and I was on that paroxetine for almost 16 yrs. I never have slept well during tough times. Thanks |

This sounds like a great tip, and I believe this will help a lot of people with various degrees of difficulties in muscle tensions and sleep problems. But let me play a devil's advocate here, I'm a male, throughout my life, I never seriously got injured physically and most of my jobs I've had covered daily requirement of enough exercises. I'm back to sedentary lifestyle which called za-zen, I need somebody to hit me with zen stick, I haven't look into it much, I'm sure my muscle will tense up along with my ki or something. Hmm,,,okay, I think this is worth a try for everyone, for serious minds only though. Never start with wikihow and their manga instructions, that's how minds get dumber, millions people get mind controlled by the institutions this way, no brains left behind, whatever happened to that? Well, anyhow, PMR sounds legit, I will be paying attention, thanks! |
