Literally!
I started having nightmares and very vivid dreams starting probably around 16 or so.... And they've just kind of gotten worse since. Almost all of my dreams are quite vivid, but what's worse, is that they are almost always nightmares. I've grown so accustomed to the horrific things and topics my mind conjures up, it's just become a part of everyday life for me. Anyone else have or had this issue? Anything you've done to help fix them? Ideas would be great! Or just someone to relate to.

I feel ya kitcat.
I’ve always been a vivid dreamer and many of my dreams manifest themselves in a sinister cloak. I have learned that there is great knowledge in even...and especially in nightmares. I’ve not tried to stop them tho, I can’t help you there... |

Glad to see I'm not alone!
![]() And that's true, I myself have always thought that too. So maybe I shouldn't try to stop them! It's just on occasion, it can be irritating when I wake up feeling too scared to go to the bathroom, but like you said; the knowledge in them may be worth it. Something tells me there's no getting rid of them anyway!

I have them. They have been really bad the last few years. My doctor gave me Prazosine. We tried different doses but it didn't work. I thought it was my AD but changed it and still have the same problem.

Yeah. Alot of mine are about school even though I haven't been in school for over year. I also have them about family members where we are arguing or fighting.

Yes, I have had recurring nightmares- it doesn't always happen frequently, but my nightmares do often stem off of nightmares I've already had. Terrible, really.
They are usually gorey, morbid, involve people I love dying, but even more frequently people I love hating me or berating me for some reason and telling me what a terrible person I am. Self esteem issues manifesting in dreams, I imagine. However, there are some dreams I have (not always nightmares) that I am almost convinced are either prophetic in some way, or more often, a look into a life I'm living in another world. The reason I say this is because the things in these dreams often have a fluidity to them that makes...too much sense for a dream, y'know? Dreams often have curveballs and random things that just don't make sense thrown in. Or they make sense in the dream, but when you wake up you're sort of just like "....What the hell?" But these type of dreams follow a specific story format, and don't have highly nonsensical things. (Or some are technically 'nonsensical' in the fact that they couldn't exist in real life, but not necessarily not making sense.....if that makes any sense!) Dunno, just thought I'd throw that in, though!
