Does anyone here like interpreting dreams for others? I could use some dream interpretation help.

Two nights ago, I awoke from a pretty realistic and sad dream that I feel is my subconscious mind trying to talk to me about feelings I'm ignoring about my situation in life.

The dream was this:

It was late at night. I was in a red car. I came to a paved road that is a very steep hill that has a bridge at the bottom, next to a pond. The road was quiet because it was so late at night that no one in my dream was driving on the road. I knew the hill was dangerously steep but I also knew I was fed up with driving around in circles, so I started to drive down this steep, paved hill.

The next thing I realized was that I couldn't control my car and I ended up crashing sideways into this small pond at the bottom. I had a hammer in my glove compartment that I got out, and tried to break the passenger and driver side windows open with it but failed.

As my car filled up with water, I tried to open my car door but was pinned in so I couldn't. Then all of a sudden a policeman showed up, somehow broke the car windows and pulled me out. I thanked him and then woke up.

Now I don't think is a dream about me wanting to join the police academy. But I don't know what it means? I don't want to end my life either. What does this dream mean?

Do you feel like you're losing the battle and want someone to come save you?

Maybe it means you don't feel like you have control over your life any more? Like there's too much bad stuff dragging you sown and you can't "save" yourself?

Yes, I definitely do want someone to come and save me from my current situation, which is pretty miserable. I am trying to save myself but resigned to the possibility that I may be stuck like this for a long time, if I can't find another person to help me.

Hi whisper. I definitely don't feel feel like I have control over my life anymore. In fact, it's gone the way of the Dodo bird. I can't believe this is where I've wound up with everything. Yes, there WAY too much bad stuff dragging me down (maybe the car tipping sideways into the pond) and I can't save myself from the momentum of going on the wrong path with the tools I have which aren't working (being pinned in the car, unable to break the windows with my hammer).

Good job you two. Thanks for your interpretations. If anyone has any other insights, about why this dream happened or the details in it, please post here.

Rofl! I don't know but your tone seems like you're being sarcastic. Made me laugh.

Oh, believe me. I got the message from my subconscious loud and clear, "Do something to create change in my life NOW or it never will."

Resignation is the worst feeling.

No sarcasm intended. Twas encouragement solely.
Resigning to make a change is actually forwarding ourselves as beings, I think. I would use the word "resolving" or perhaps "choosing betterment."
Why haven't you made these changes? My biggest reason is always fear, which is the least effective thing to influence anything positively.

F.E.A.R. That is the reason. And excuses. And lots of justifications. "Well, I can't do [a,b, or c] because of [excuses, justifications]."

But yeah.

My three elements of resignation are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Internet. My four....no...amongst my elements of...amongst my resignation...are such elements as fear, surprise...I'll come in again...

You veddy, veddy clever.

I'm actually glad to hear that I made someone laugh and smile today. Maybe the next hill that I dream I roll down, will be one of the competitions for the Monty Python Silly Olympics.

By the way, have you ever tried this sport? It's on my bucket list. It looks very exciting.

The scene taking place at night indicates a situation in which you are not using any real intelligence. The Light of the Lord is absent here.(dark - no sunlight) You are using an idea, philosophy or way of thinking (car) that reflects some anger (red). The red car might also suggest that you are using a dangerous rationale.

You have come to using a well established course of action (paved road), one that relates to having a problem (hill). In this case you are not "making a mountain out of a molehill" - exaggerating having a problem - but do have a real problem. (steep hill is mountain-like) By going down hill, it is indicated that you are in a losing situation. This course of action, at its lowest level of intelligence (bottom of hill) leads to a bridge, i.e. the idea of "crossing the bridge when you come to it". This implies dealing with something when it becomes an absolute necessity.

By coming down from a high place, it is implied that you have acquired a solution to a problem at a higher level of intelligence, yet here the solution may not be so intelligent because this is a hill not a high mountain. Your course of action and solution - using angry thinking - appear to be the problem itself. This course of action has been chosen because you were fed up getting nowhere.(going in circles)

In this losing situation you lose control of your mind and way of thinking and end up clashing with spiritual knowledge. (car crashes into a pond) {Thinking with anger does not reflect the positive thinking that is spiritually recommended.} You have lost the ability to get out of a situation. (doors and window do not open) The hammer implies dealing with a situation out of frustration and rage but not really making "a point". (just bashing but no nail) You seem in danger of being overwhelmed by emotion. (water filling the car) Only when the aspect of your mind that reflects the idea that something wrong could be going on here (policeman) enters your mind do you get out of the losing situation.

Eyes of Blue that is a fantastic dream interpretation and spot on too. Thank you for that analysis. You hit on some interesting points used in DBT too, about using the Wise Mind to solve problems, rather than just the Rational Mind or Emotional Mind. In DBT, the Wise Mind is a balance between the Emotional Mind and the Rational Mind.

I wouldn't have made that connection about my situation, without the help of your dream analysis of my dream. It now makes total sense to me how I got into my situation. The timing is eerie too, because I just started a 3 month MBSR (mindfulness based stress reduction) course which I hope will help me connect to my Wise mind about my situation (and well, my life in general). So, thank you for your thoughtful analysis of my dream. It really helped.
