Well, I had a dream last night, I don't remember 99% of the dream (it's the kind of dream for me where you know more stuff happens, you've just forgotten it by now)

but the part I DO remember was a little fragment of the dream, it's sort of hard to write about and the more I think about it the more disgusted I get.

Well, I was a really little kid.
In the forest
It was still damp and gray from rain
Some older guy was there too
(I don't remember who)
I was naked
took a few steps back
But he grabbed me by the arms
and pinned me to a rock
And forced himself on me

Well it dies out here, but it's safe to assume what happens next...
Even though I'm seeing the dream in the third person, it is still very vivid.
So it's kind of disturbing, and hard for me to type about, you know?
So that's why I'm not going into huge amounts of detail

I've had worse nightmares before, you know, about rape, serial killers, psychopaths, but the thing is this one is that it is terribly lucid.

The first thing I wonder when I read this is if you are having a nightmare or somehow reliving a traumatic event.

(Whew, somebody finally responded...)
That's what I wonder too

Of course the longer I stay awake the more my memory of dream distorts.... the thing that works against it though is that despite my own reaction to the dream and how lucid things were, it still had some subtle dream features to it, like the setting being messed up (you know, they way dreams sort of mix and match the places of where you've already been?) but who knows, maybe that's normal or something.

Child sexual abuse has been eluded to in previous dreams and stuff, but I never really took it seriously because it was clearly a dream. Here the lines are blurry.

Well, if it makes you feel better I didn't have any bad dreams tonight they've been the same sort of dreams I've been having for weeks, silly, fragmented, nothing memorable about them dreams that you forget all about 5 minutes after you wake up. Most of my nightmares I find less scary and more intriguing, and they tend to happen in episodes.

My T says that it doesnt matter if the dream was real or not - the emotions attached to it are real and thats what hurts

glad you are having better dreams

Thanks everybody

I had a weird dream last night,
Infact, weird doesn't even begin to describe it

It all started as a school dream, where they mixed all the busses around and as we were driving home at all the stops our bus driver had to check and see if we had railings on the stairs on the from porch and stuff. It was weird. And then when we explained about how we had a railing but it was really flimsy he says we should get it fixed.

Later, we are driving around, and we go to this office. It says the winds are 300mph. The sky is red. It's weird. I was scared because of this so I contemplated hiding in a sheltered spot in the office like a closet or something, but just kept looking out the window instead. Yu could see the tree's bending, but not breaking in the wind.

Then, there were two blasts of white light, the fist one was little, the next was like a giant pulse that rippled across the whole planet.

you see, there was this giant omnipotent rubix cube, in two blasts it destroyed pretty much the earth and all life on it except for me, a talking hyena, a dog, and I think maybe a goldfish. So all of us were floating around the universe and the only thing to pass the time were these really dry jokes that apparently and all wise and powerful rubix cube finds hilarious. Then the hyena starts talking about how people confuse him for a dog, but he figured out that because all life originated from single celled organisms every thing has it's own unique code of numbers and letters, and then repeated his, and the rubix cube...happy with the hyena's smarts said it's code ...I forgot the exact numbers and letters because it was just a bunch of jumble goo anyways. And then I sort of moped that the rest of forever is going to be incredibly dull. Then, this angel that protects the earth comes down to confront the rubix cube. She was really distraught that because everything was destroyed she couldn't talk to her best friend- a giant supercomputer anymore. I thought to myself "Geez, why didn't you stop the blast then to begin with?" aparently this angel was the rubix cube's mentor of sorts and has even more god-like powers and is way more powerful then the cube, go figure. So, after laying the smackdown on the rubix cube, she rips open a hole to a different dimension and sends the cube there. Oddly enough the cube is really happy because from what I gethered it's the dimension of weird floaty things and really dry jokes. Then the angel goes back in time and stops the explosions from happening and yep, everything returns to normal.

...Yeah...try to interpret THAT one

LOL that was a hilarious dream. I'm glad you are seeming to have some good dreams.

Okay, here is a silly interpretation:

The rubix cube and the angel are god and the devil. They battle for the earth and god wins. The devil is sent away but he enjoys it because the place was made just for him. You question why the angel didn't come sooner or stop it in the beginning because in real life you want to know, (if there is a god), why does he do things the way he does. You and your closest friends were the only ones who survived because in real life you feel that you and your friends are all survivors of something. The one friend that was the hienna is often misunderstood in real life. Confused for something they aren't.

Or you could just think of it as a funny dream

Dear Kaika,

If, I was going to interpret you dreams I may say that you or your subconscious is feeling overwhelmed by a series of occasions or event. That part is really scared and or confused (your mind doesn't understand). You can't control what's happening. However, I could be totally off the mark.

I often have nightmares with pretty much the same themes running through them. Often, its only the dreamer who can really understand the sense of things as they know themselves and what has importance. If you can remember your dreams write them down straight away. Then the details don't get lost.

Causes of nightmares are often from the subconscious but sometimes out dreams can make no sense at all. Medications can give you nightmares. Being too hot in bed can give you nightmares. Hormones can trigger nightmares. Eating highly flavoured food (like cheese and red wine b4 bed) can give you nightmares. A whole range of things.

I find it helpful to discuss my dreams over with my T. Just having some-one to listen to you is healthy. If you find it hard to get back to sleep try putting a soft light on and a radio on softly to break the overwhelming fear in the nightmares.

You aren't alone.

Possum
