After reading many articles over the past year, and then seeing the post here about ecigs, I decided to give it a go. Mind you...I am a huge skeptic...I thought this thing was the dumbest invention ever. But you know what? It works.
I have been using it for about a month. I am still using a good amount of nicotine in it. But the transfer from the cigs to the ecigs was super easy. It takes a few days to get the right "draw" from it, but it is instant satisfaction. I have tried everything to get off cigs, but nothing worked this well. So I will be vaping instead of smoking from here out. Going to gradually cut down the nicotine dosage, and we'll go from there. I did a ton of research, and read almost 100 different reviews of the different brands and such. The one I ended up with cost about $50, and the cartridges are less then $2- each cartridge equals 1.5 packs, but I noticed they last almost 2 days (and I was a heavy smoker). __________________ never mind... |

Hi, Eileen,
I think the ecig is the easiest and most realistic (most sane) way to quit. I purchased mine back in Dec. '09. Like you, I intended to cut down gradually in the nicotine content, but I found that not even necessary. I just used the ecig less and less, no matter what the nicotine content whether high, med, or low... this, from a 35 year smoker who couldn't quit with any other product. I eventually just began forgetting about it altogether for days. And while the ecig is pleasurable, it is nowhere near the addictive qualities of tobacco cigarettes, leading me to believe the tobacco companies add and extra something addictive to their products besides just tobacco. Since my initial purchase, I've saved hundreds of dollars! That alone is a great incentive. OH...and I feel much better! Hoping this device is as beneficial for you as it was for me! Patty |

I have the ecig and have been thinking of trying it again... would be better than continuing on this smoking path. I tried it once before but didnt stick with it... that was my fault i think at the time i just wasnt in the right mind set to want to quit but now i am ... between my eating disorder and smoking my health is going down hill fast ... i have to work on these things. Thanks for posting this it has encouraged me to want to try again

I used the E-Cig along the road on my trip to my quit.
I found it a bit awkward, but, very helpful at the same time. The hand to mouth movement was perfect, though the E-Cig is much heavier, and takes getting used to. The full strength and medium strength doses were *much* to high for me. The low dose was ok. The fact that the E-Cig lights up is cool, makes it more realistic. And the vapor that comes out is really cool! That adds a bit of "realism" to it. So, it has many positives. But, there was one negative that I really did not like. And that was this: When I smoked a normal, poisonous sickarette, I knew when I was finished. The sickarette was done. I crushed out the stub. With the E-Cig, I never knew when I was done. And it was very easy to smoke too much, as a result. So, I honestly think it's *very* important, BEFORE your quit, if you're going to use the E-Cig, that you count the number of puffs you normally take on a regular sickarette. That way, you'll know approximately how many to take on the E-Cig, too. and won't over dose on the nicotine. If you do overdose on the nicotine, remember, it will make it harder to quit. And you will become even *more* addicted! Just my 2 1/2 cents. Peace! __________________ IMAGINE |

Good point. In researching what ecig to buy, one of the things I wanted was to use cartridges...and looking at different companies cartridges some last longer than others. But I learned that all of them are based on the principal that an average analog cig last 15 puffs. __________________ I am just a simple man who loves his family, his God and Drums! |
