I think it is different with each person. How many days are behind you?

3 months. I tapered off very slowly. From cig to vaping to gum. Have smoked cigarettes 3 or so times after that but I'm fairly confident I'm done because I don't get the same satisfaction from it.
I know when my dad quit (cold turkey) he was easily agitated for about a year. |

Nicotine is a drug regardless of the method of delivery. As you taper off and eventually get off the chemical substance you will suffer withdrawals. Things will get easier the more time you put between you and nicotine! You can do this!

I believe when it comes to smoking in particular, everyone is different. Actually the fact that some people are heavy smokers and others are occasional smokers proves that it works differently from person to person. So what I'm going to say probably applies only to me:
Personally I believe the craving never stops even after years of quitting but you can overcome it. (I know this sounds absurd to say because there are a lot of people successfully quit). Anyway to answer your question I believe it depends on how much stress you face in your daily life " especially if you are a type of a person how used to smoke with every stress moment." For me , withdrawals symptoms isn't even a problem after the first week ,because what I feel at day 7 is exactly what I feel at day 356 as long as there is no stress/problems in my life. I mean the problem is not the withdrawals symptoms, it's the fact that I can't stop thinking about that relaxed feeling that smoking used to cause, that I no more experience, and that's what causes the anger thing not the withdrawal symptoms. I also believe that quitting is really difficult as long as you didn't find another healthy alternative, and the only thing that would lessen the anger thing is seeing the benefits of that alternative. ( a common alternative is working-out and it's also addictive). Maybe if the person is mentally stronger than me, maybe the benefits of quitting smoking itself is enough for them to kick the habit , I mean a better health, better skin, money, smell, etc, also gradually it will positively affect the mood and behavior as well. I really wish i have never smoked in the first place, it's a curse. Sorry for being a bit negative, and after all the fact that thousands of people successfully quit smoking proves that it is possible , and I am sure you can do it, GreenMoss. Good luck!
