Well, I have a question... Is that how you see yourself or is that how others have told you about yourself?
I know this may be an odd question for some people, but I ask because I had the same issue of self-esteem and self-confidence. Always worried and fearful of what others thought of me. I never wanted to disappoint anyone and got my feelings hurt at the slightest critique. For myself, it took me standing in front of a mirror and taking an honest look at myself to see me, not who everyone else said I was. I smiled, I laughed, I made faces at myself and looked in my own eyes and said, "you are not so bad." I once heard someone say, "the only one who can hurt your feelings is you." That struck me as odd, but over the years it made sense. What would you say are your best qualities or some things you are good at? Hair, ears, handwriting, crosswords, Clue, WoW, cooking pancakes, whatever. That is where you should start, I think. Seeing you from a different perspective is always a good start. stay golden...

It seems that you are insecure about yourself. You feel that you are worthless, unattractive, as if your attempts for self-improvement are futile. Do you have a reason for this, or is this your personal perception of your own being?
No one is perfect, and no one will ever become perfect. This is human, and you must learn to accept this universal truth. Our existence can be regarded as lying on a natural spectrum. There will be a legion of people who will tend to exceed you in certain areas while there will be plenty of others who will perform slightly below the standards. Trust in your own abilities. You are not a failure. You are what you make yourself be. If you choose to believe that you have that capability, and you are willing to assert yourself in the process, then you will achieve. |

You are not a failure. You are a good and worthwhile person going through a difficult time... Has anything happened that has made you feel so harshly about yourself? Or is it something you face every day? I ask because I also have days whenever I feel that nothing I do/say is right...all the things we think we should be doing differently. I hope you feel better soon, Cap

You have to work through it step by step. Are you ready to begin?

Hi,
I read once something like "as you think in your heart so you are", i can't quite remember the quote but the meaning of it just shows that if you tell yourself you are worthless then you will be like that in your activity. How about every day when you get up, look at your self in the mirror and just repeat to yourself that you are full of worth! Pick a feature, any thing and focus on that. Don't think about all the negative things, no one is perfect and no one expects you to be so. Think of anything you have ever achieved, it can be something so simple like making a sandwich, literally anything! just focus on that, it was a completed task, you can do something! Also, if you feel as though you can not complete tasks, can you try breaking them down into small small chunks, then when you have completed each small bit you will be able to build up your confidence more and more as you go. |

HI , I also have issues with self-esteem .
Fat is not bad . There are many fat people who are happy . I see them everyday and they seem confident and happy with who they are. The key is we must not concentrate too much on what other people think of us. Think of yourself first . Then when you feel comfortable and confident with who you are things may not always be great, because that's life . But at least you have taken that first step toward recovery. I'm learning too . I just need to act instead of thinking about it. Hope this helps. Take Care ![]()

![]() I mean, suppose for the sake of argument that you really were a worthless useless person taking up space. Even then, what would be the point of saying so -- instead of, for instance, "So you think I'm a worthless useless person taking up space, do you?" [reaches for six-gun] "Prove it, mother****er!" I'm not saying that one way is better than the other -- just wondering how you happened to settle on that one. |
