My self esteem is basically non existent. I hate myself a lot and always feel like I'm not good enough for anything. I feel like a failure all the time. I saw a therapist for 3 years and she suggested I make a scrapbook of my life to show all the things I have done instead of thinking what I haven't. I started to make a scrapbook and couldn't finish because I felt like I had nothing to put in it. I liked the idea of doing some physical craft type thing though. Has anyone else made a scrapbook or have you done lists, collages, etc. something like that and has it helped?

I've just made the decision recently to make a scrap book and I'm finding it hard, but I'm going to show it to my T and see what she thinks. I think it's a good idea to do it because it makes oyu think about the good things about you and what you have actually done and gives you something to find in yourself that's positive.

I hope you manage to carry on with it soon. It sounds like it'll be helpful for you

This isn't about scrapbooking, but I find that I really enjoy crocheting. It's fairly simple, and it's nice to be able to hold something in your hand that you made yourself. I make little things, such as a cellphone pouch thing for my sister and an eye glasses case for my mom. I started a purse for my mom, too. The stitches are fairly simple and easy to learn. It really boosts my self esteem to see that I am capable of making things that other people enjoy, appreciate, and even use.

The book I'm using is Hooked on Crochet by Candi Jensen, but I also look for patterns on line.

This was a good post! You've got me thinking... I might try making a scrapbook soon... Let me know if you wanna talk anymore about crochet

Best wishes!

I scrapbook.. not me, but my children. I really love it, but have to be in the mood to do it. It is hard seeing 'good' moods are few and far between.
You can find some scrapbooking forums online, a lot of them do 'Book of Me' and have great prompts to get you scrapbooking about yourself..
Good luck!!
