as you all know, something is wrong with my knee. the nurse at work asked me, friday, if i'd had it scanned. duh? i have no health insurance and a scan would cost several hundred dollars. when i was married, i could pick up the phone and call a doctor and get in and get stuff taken care of free....no free now and not enough money to do it on my own. it's embarrassing when people keep asking me why i haven't seen a doctor. i can't walk without a very pronounced limp..so it's not like i can lie about the pain.......a friend gave me two prescriptions of pain meds...safe stuff...except, i go to sleep if i take them. i'm trying to clean house and the knee is screaming at me.......i have a very HIGH threshold for pain, so this really sucks. if it bothers me, it's bad. okay, my rant is over.......thanks for lending me your shoulders. embarrassment and pain RANT

Pat I understand 100% what it's like to have no health insurance and need to have tests. I don't have any answers for you, but I can tell you that you're not alone in that situation.

However, I think that it's awful that your employer is a doctor and doesn't offer his workers health coverage (or maybe it's just too expensive to afford the premiums?). embarrassment and pain RANT

who would know more than a doctor that we need insurance. i'm willing to pay a part of it..if he would offer it. he's very careful to keep us from getting 40 hours a week.....

Ugh! The more I read about this sleazy employer of yours, the more I have to agree that you need to use whatever means necessary to get out of that place. Sounds like it's not doing you any good mentally or physically.

((((faye))) we ALL know about the issues of insurance! (Well, those of us over 25, for sure!)

and... unfortunately, as we experience more and more pain in our lives, our threshholds become lower...

certainly you know if there is a county clinic where you can get these tests through?
