Not sure if there is a thread already similar to this or what not.. If there is please direct me- did a search and did not see something pop up to which I thought of
And I hope I am using the correct phrase -- Self worth. What I am thinking of is-- What or How do you remind yourself of YOUR self Wroth? I myself, have a terrible time with this some days-- And even when someone close to me (my one and only S/O) tells me that I am worth a lot and can even list a few, I still don't some times see what he sees--- I do realize that it will take myself with in to see this, and to believe it.... One thing that helps me to remind myself of my self is worth is: I can figure out problems (especially at work); I am a hard worker, I usually do finish what I start with projects, That I can some times amaze people by showing them how easy some thing can be done and by this helping them do it (i.e. I re-upholstered my chairs and people were amazed and actually the chairs that I have it was quiet simple just a little work ![]() Little hard to day with creating a list... but those are some. ![]() what are some of yours' if you would like to share?

Beauflow, your positive traits sound pretty good to me even if you did find it hard to make a list (another one for you, you started a thread which made me feel good
![]() I know there's already a thread about what we like/dislike about ourselves but personally I find it too easy & rather depressing to list my self dislikes so don't want to dwell on those. These are my pointers to remind me of my self worth: I'm diligent, caring, always try my best, keep my humour (usually!), I'm (usually!) optimistic, my IT skills are good and I'm good at drawing/art. Today my co-worker told me I have a lovely manner on the phone which I don't feel (I always feel awkward) but she is an perceptive lady who I respect so I'll accept her observation - I always try to 'dial a smile' so it must be paying off. ![]() Last edited by Anonymous321456; Jun 14, 2012 at 10:25 AM. |

thanks Toastie
![]() ![]() you have a good list there and.. ooo you have one that is another that i do to and idk how i forgo it! it's important to me, try my best on what i do too, on average days that is ![]() yeah the ten likes and dislikes, i filled out, i am a little lost on what to do with some dislikes, guess try to improve? ![]() hard not to dwell though as ya mentioned on the bad though, i was aiming for positive thinking heere which i can fail at at times, which is a dwindling hole some times. another self worth for me is that most days i am glad i try best to move forward, well atleast with some depts. i.e. not escaping through means of drugs, as i did at one time, and trying not to take some things so seriously (needs work but getting better with the littiler things) |

Another thing that helps me remind myself of self worth is that I try best to perceptive with things and other people in situations... I try my best with it; even though there are some tough times that I don't think I do well with it-- But to say the less I at least try..

oh, I love to do chairs, too esp dining room type chairs, where you just do the seat and can make such an amazing difference! I did my mom's old dining set when she moved to her condo, and she told me her one really clean (like almost OCD house-cleaning), classy friend just kept STARING at them! so that is about as close as I get to a real compliment from my mother.
people - like T, or my former hairdresser, or my GP - would always say how they like to see me because I make them laugh, and that makes them feel good. I didn't really understand the effect of the mood change until last week, when T and I laughed so hard and I noticed my own mood change because of it. I don't know if i'm just always set at "anxious" or what?! I need to talk to T about it. I also need to redo my current chairs in my apt! I bought the material maybe 2 years ago - a couple of big square pillow covers from IKEA - one is zebra, the other is caramel, embroidered black flowers on one side. I need to paint all the chairs black. but they are going in two diff places in the apt, foyer and dining. |

I am really good with writing and music. Anything with a repetitive beat I grab onto quite easily. I'm prety good at being open with new people, so long as I don't feel threatened in anyway by them. I am a strong, experienced person and I always try to keep my mind open to new ideas and experiences.

i think indirect way is helpful........
awareness about our different needs and expectation, satisfaction with what we have. if these is handled properly, we definitely became aware about our wealth..... |

When I read situations here on PC, sometimes I can relate, I have gone through that -- sometimes exactly what they've gone through, but here I am... giving advice for those who went through those hurtful moments
Life takes time, it takes experience, things will go wrong, expect it, don't get down and try your hardest; The worse things get, the more of an accomplishment you will have at the end of the road. So don't worry now for no reason, because things will be alright. Life is a constant work in progress, I am worth it, everyone is worth it, you are what you make of yourself; what you choose |

I've made huge changes in the past year to make myself healthier for my children (lost 70lb and counting, quit smoking cold turkey 9 months ago, recently started therapy again but I'm being honest this time). Self improvement is something my mother would have NEVER done for my siblings and me. I can be friendly and helpful and I'm a quick learner. When I know what I'm doing I can be a good leader.

I try to remember my parents and the precious life they gave me. I also like music that relaxes and inspires, and I feel like the singer is very sincere. God be with you all. I love you guys.

Hello there!
![]() self worth is one of the important things to keep in mind. How? here's what I do, I always think every people in this world is unique so I must embrace my own uniqueness; I value myself, I love myself, I believe in myself, and I just believe that everyone should have their self worth No Matter what. ![]() |

I realize that the universe does not exist without me. Both science and philosophy are pointing to this from different perspectives, and when you think about it, it's the truth, so who is more important or deserving of life than you?
Sometimes, when I think about my death, I see it as my mind surrounded by nothing for a very long time, when, at last, I see a speck of light, which grows larger over a very long period of time. Finally, a hole opens up into a universe, and I have the choice to step through, but I'm hesitant because it's the same crappy one that I left; in fact, it's right at the same spot I last remembered. The alternative to stepping through is a repetition of that long journey of nothingness. You know, it doesn't seem so bad after all. |

When I have to agree that moments involving serendipity brings me signs of stand up comedy rather than looking at things in a twisted way.

Ummm...what's that now? you mean without wearing some kinda custom made of money-jacket and a gold hat?? what th' hell are youse talking about???
...and that answers that. Nothing...you need at least a working equation of self worth to begin. Can't remind myself of something that doesn't exist...yet anyway. I'm a wee bit hard on myself...too much and can't dig out of it...like I said, to date anyway. Maybe this thread will still be here inna few yrs...may take some more time to answer that Question. |
