I just read the traits of a mature, self actualizing person, and I seem to fit most of the descriptions. I wish I could say hooray for me, but on the other hand I am still depressed, angry, irritable, and devoid of self-confidence. How is this possible? how can there be this dichotomy?

There's a "test", see how well you do?
http://www.selfcounseling.com/help/p...alization.html Question #2 says you should have an "acceptance of self" (as well as others and reality) which low self-esteem and anger don't seem to jive with? It's a continuum; you don't "become" this fantastic person and there you are, we're all working on becoming who we are all our lives.

There's a 'TEST..' alright and it's the test of a lifetime with mental illness..or depression.....finding that appreciation...of who you are deep down...is sooo hard to come by.....it can be found here at PC...the more you write the more you express yourself.......as far as being devoid of confidence......voids and or empty spots in life can be met found and healed...they have in my life..................................
