Gee, the weather was great over the weekend, in more ways than one. Took two of the grandkids to the Phizer Fantasia at the Equine Affair in Columbus, Ohio. We all had a great time!! Lots of laughs and fun! My daughters little four year old stayed three nights with us, and he just has the best time running around the farm. We went to the show for part of our 8 year old grandaughters birthday present as she loves the horses. She stayed all night on Friday also. I called my son in the morning and told him that we were working outside all day and doing farm work, hauling manure and cleaning stalls, etc. If he did not want Courtney around this he was to come and get her. Not only was she allowed to stay all day, but the daughter-in-law came over with the other three for the whole afternoon!!! Around all that horse hair and manure and -pneumonia!!! She let the little ones go out into the barn around all the dust and manure that we were hauling!!!! That was on Saturday, and yesterday, the little boy who supposedly got pneumonia from the horses was just fine!!! So, maybe things are coming around!!

you are so lucky to have little grandchildren . I always see kids and babies at work and I wish I could hold a baby again and just watch their faces when they start to talk but my daughters are still WAY too young yet 19 and 20 and not married so I can wait and they better too. Its nice out today here also.

That's so wonderful that your family is coming around and letting the grandkids spend time with the horses.

My family had horses and raised beagles and just thinking about horses reminds me of that warm barn feeling and the scent of them, spending time grooming them and feeling their warm noses sniffing my hair. I can't help but get the warm fuzzies. There's just something magical about horses, isn't there? Hopefully your grandkids will continue to be exposed to them on a regular basis. Sounds like it's doing great things for everyone involved.

Yes, the horses are my stress relief! I'm glad what I said made some good memories pop up for a couple of you. Sometimes I just bury my nose right in those soft necks and take in the perfume de horse!
