I recently wrote my new T a letter telling her about my relationship with my mom. It was soooooo hard to do. I felt so ashamed of thing things I've done as a child. So vulnerable tell her that and my mom's views of me. it all makes me feel soooooooooo ugly.

((((((Esther)))))

I know that feeling. But if you are like me you see yourself so much more critically than others see you.

(((((((((((((Esthers)))))))))))))))))) You were very brave to journal about your relationship with your mom. I am confident that it will help your therapist work most productively with you. Try to not be so hard on yourself.

{{{{{{Esther}}}}}}}}}}} I'm sorry you feel shame over things you did as a child. Could it be that you are putting adult expectations on your child self? Children are innocent creatures. We learn things from adults. Not to blame your mother (I don't know your circumstances), but please be gentle on yourself and very importantly, try to forgive your child self for these things you are feeling guilty about. Maybe you could focus on the good side of your child self and bring that into the light.

I hope your t helps you work thru this. Good luck,

Kelly

i do the same thing! i feel embarassed, but most of all i feel if i point out those same things to ppl, they will see it and ridicule me for it as well. t is trying to show me that their thinking was wrong and that i'm not those things.

be safe,
