There is a new show on A&E and it isn't good for anybody already dealing with their own crap.

I watched the first episode not knowing what it was and it already had rape and murder.
The murder didn't bother me because you see that in crime shows all the time. But it showed her getting raped. Not the people's private areas and stuff but it showed enough to mess me up pretty bad.

I literally froze when I saw it. It was to early for me to even talk about what happened to me, at least out loud, and WAY to early to see that on TV.

I'm both in shock and terror from it. And about to have a panic attack.

So WARNING!!! Don't watch it if you don't want to cry the rest of the Night...

I hate triggers. I just fall apart and now I keep having flashbacks to both the TV show and when it happened to me....

I can't take it

I'm sorry to hear this. I also had a major panic attack after watching an episode of Law and Order. I saw the previews for Bates Motel and wondered if I would be able to watch it. Thank you for giving us a heads up, I will stay far away from that show. I hope you have a better day today!

I can empathize w/you about the content of tv shows. I try not to watch shows that trigger, but sometimes they throw stuff in b/f we realize. Thanks for the warning. Much love and hugs to you.

Makes me glad we don't have cable TV. Or even satellite.

I'm sorry Girl...I can empathize, to some extent. I've never endured anything like this, but I despise scenes like that in any form of media. It saddens me to the point where I cannot enjoy the rest of the movie/show/book/whatever. I spend the entirety of my time after the fact feeling awful for whoever it happened to, and harboring rather vehement revenge fantasies against the perpetrator. Not an entirely healthy response, perhaps...but that's me. I'm not sure why it upsets me so. I usually blame it on an overactive protective instinct and call it a day.

By the way Ultra Darkness, love the Shadow the Hedgehog motif.

Thanks! I think you're one of the only people who's actually recognized him so far. Someone actually thought he was a cat.

(((GirlofManyFaces)))

I am sorry this happened to you. This is why I stick with the old shows from the 60's and 70's! I don't have full cable but Nick at Night used to have old shows and now we are able to watch some on ME TV.

Oh, there is no way I can watch a show like that. Thanks for the warning. Someone mentioned Law and Order--yes, SVU triggers me a lot. I respect the actors, and I think they're very talented, but maybe the show is a little too realistic. I have to be extremely careful if I do watch it. There are also certain criminal justice portrayal shows on the I&D network that can sometimes trigger me.

Yeah I feel ya. But Bates Motel was very graphic. Just don't even think about watching it if you get triggered by seeing it.

It's bad
