And I'm very nervous.

From 0 - 6 years I was stuck in an abusive alcohol fuelled environment. My Dad was the abuser, mentally, emotionally and physically (not sexually).

From 9 - 18 years I was stuck in a repeated environment at the hands of my Step-Dad.

From nursery to college I was bullied.

At 18 I left home (and left my baby brother to deal with it .. he was 8 years younger...still have massive guilt over this).

From 18 - 34 years I put up with the abuse from my Step-Dad still, even though I did not live with him any more.

At 22 I was raped by a stranger. (for future reference I call it the incident)

That's the basics. I'm open to answering any questions and would love some support of some kind. I'm in T now and its all starting to spill out, so I have decided to start talking and thought you peeps might be able to coach/support me through the T and I might make a new friend or get a hug to keep me going.!

Thank-you for the responses. I'm still nervous about posting here in this forum as its like a recognition of events for me. But it needs to be done.

Words can't begin to say how sorry I am that this has happened to you. I can't say much about this all of a sudden, triggers are strange like that. But I want you to know I hear you, I understand you and I feel for you. Keep talking to us. It gets easier. This place is like the family I never had. I don't know how I ever made it with out everyone's support and simply being nice to me.

How can I change the icon to a trigger icon so I can talk more in this thread? So silly should have started with it.

In this thread that has already been started you can't change it and add a trigger icon that I know of. I've been here a year and have not quite figured out everything here yet. But a moderator may be able to add one for you.

If you hir "reply" at the bottom of a post instead of using the quick reply box, you can put a trigger icon on your reply, like I put that green arrow on this reply.

I am sorry that you have gone through all of this. Props for seeking out T and going- it can be a great, safe place to start to unravel it all. Don't worry if you feel like you are starting to spin...there is a lot to your story, some of which you will find overlaps/connections, others will just seem to be opening up a can of worms you have no idea how to get rid of. Stick with it, and we are always here to listen and bounce things off of. It's very confusing, painful, anxiety-producing, but in the end, you can come out on top and be changed for the better. Will love to hear of your progress through it all. (hugs)

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
