Child Abuse & Neglect Linked to Adult Health Risks | Psych Central News
This PC article explains a lot. I have suffered from metabolic syndrome for decades now. I also have a heart condition. What it doesn't include are how metabolic syndrome has affected me and those like me, especially sexually. I am prone to urinary tract infections and yeast infections. Also, I have developed Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The result of these health issues is that I have refrained from sex for years now and have increased my social isolation. Anyone else find psychotherapy and other forms of counseling so emotionally painful that they cannot continue? I know that is my c-PTSD acting up. How do you deal with it so that you can make progress? |

I was abused as a child....and I am obese, have high blood pressure (i'm almost 29 and my BP is arnd 150/100), I have high cholesterol....though there is nothing in my diet that contributes to it.
I never found therapy too painful....but I did find resources and articles online much more helpful! You can try reading up a lot online too!! Good luck! |
