I struggle a lot with vague memories, and I had one memory where I was in a specific place that I know from my childhood. However, I am confused about whether or not I am just imagining it taking place there because that place was familiar to me, or whether it did actually happen to me.
It doesn't sound very important, but I don't really know who abused me and where it happened could have implications for who had access to me in that place, and help me narrow it down. To be more specific, I had a memory about a bathroom in my home at the time. But I don't have any other evidence that the abuse happened at home. I don't know if this could be seen as evidence or if I just thought of that place because it was home and familiar.

It's as good as any. Go with your feelings and your "gut" on the matter. Often, those are more accurate than actual memory.

Im not a therapist, but if this is a memory you have always had, it probably means something. At least that's what one therapist told me, when I described a flashback going back to when I was around 2 1/2.
