I state " until you have been victumized by a pedophile" you know nothing about a pedophile....

I am NOT talking about a non-offending person that has thoughts of such...

There are people here... who "study" peodphiles and "think" they "know" them....

Until you have spent "time" with one as I did 3 years.... you don't know... the sodimization, the rape, the seduction, the hopelessness, the helplessness.... the terror... the shame... the nastiness...

I can relate....... for I spent 11 years in the arms and sickness of four of them (yuck sick sad), and I often hate it when some one that barely know me or of my past tries to assume they know me or why I do the things I do / don't do or why I feel as I do about certain issues in life.

Freewill I am sorry for the pain and suffering that you are enduring. I have never understood why people call a child's rapist a Pedophile first, almost as if to sweep under the fact that they rape children. They do not impose this distinction when Rape happens to Adults.

I have had this discussion with my Therapist, when he talks about my abuse, he has learned to catch himself prior to uttering this to me, because I have told him that the label Pedophile may be appropriate when discussing this kind of abuse with his colleagues, but it is "Very Inappropriate and Hurtful to me"..

Almost like a child's rapist is not as henious a criminal, so adults have come up the this more politically correct term 'Pedophile", to protect the Rapist from a harsher term such as a "Rapist" and demish it's impact on the victim just because the victim was a child, but then I have the same problem with the word Incest..I guess maybe because I just can't see past the act to take in consideration the Rapist's feelings..

A Rapist is a Rapist, whether you know them, are related to them, or they are strangers, and why would the victims age change the wording of what they do and continue to do.

Again, Freewill, you are in my heart...I hope by writing my views and feelings here I have not caused you any additional distress..I just wanted to express that I understand and can relate to the type of emotional and/or physical pain and hurt that the word Pedophile can induce.

I stood up once and told a room of people what happened to me as a child. They could not understand for real what it meant, but one of them understood enough to say about my disclosure: "That took guts." That much he understood. It's the most beautiful thing a non-survivor has ever said to me.

I have a part that is upfront that protects me from realitys of my abuse. I call it my soldier part. Somedays I feel like it is crumbling and all the feelings will flood me! that scares me, but then I switch again and back on guard duty keeping me miles and miles away emotionally from those dark days!
