I would appreciate it if someone could summarize for me the stages of recovery for survivors of abuse...
because I am about to go bat s*** crazy spinning my wheels around this need I have to contact him when I know rationally that's about the worst thing in the world I can do... I don't really need to be told that this is normal though. I understand that I'm human. I'm not in a healthy emotional place right now. thanks |

When we are abused....it is a lot like being in the stages of grief. We have had a lot of loss when we were abused. A link is below that may help.
The 5 Stages of Loss and Grief | Psych Central Also, here is an article on coping with abuse. http://www.goodtherapy.org/therapy-for-abuse.html You can take your time when you need it to process things. Maybe it would be best not to see this person you are speaking of. One time I didn't see my mom for a year as I needed to be away from her. She was my main abuser. Best wishes and I hope you get all of this sorted out. |
