How do you all handle mother's day? i am dreading it. i have to act like nothing is wrong and that everything is okay when really i am p*ssed. Next month i have to deal with her birthday. My therapist is focused on my stepfather and all the stuff he has done to me, but i am more p*ssed at my mom because she was suppose to protect me and believe me not him. He was just her husband. He was nothing to me. So how do you cope. I have to go see her and pretend everything is alright. she doesnt know i am in therapy and she doesnt know i have DID.

I'm sorry that some mothers don't protect as they should.
![]() ![]() When I'm around my mom I go into a "mind set" that she is a distant relative or a neighbor that I just feel obligated to be there for-- on occasions. It can be VERY difficult... if you're like me--I accidentally dissociate but it's helped me get through then. (don't know if that's supposed to be a good thing, and I probably shouldn't mention it??...... but I'm not sure I'd be able to make it around her most times without that ![]() ![]() I wish you the best, you are in my heart. ![]() mandy |

I hate mother's day too. I hated it when she was alive and I still hate it even though she is dead. I'm just glad she is dead and I don't have to see her. Maybe I'll go to the cemetery and jump on her grave!
