This is nothing physical.
I just can not pee if i hear something (someone walking/the wind/anything) which is pretty difficult since i live in a group home. i think it's related to CSA, it's like when my pants are down, i can't relax enough to let my pee out. Does anyone else have experience with this? And/or advice because it's really frustrating not being able to pee when i really have to thanks ![]() |

Hi, I had this too, it was really painful after a while and people even used to comment on how I never went to the bathroom when out or at work. I have to hold my breath For a while and then somehow I just can’t help but pee. I don’t know why that works for me but it does, most of the time.
Can you practice being safe in your body in on the toilet, even when you don’t have to pee? Sometimes I have to check out new places/toilets before I can ever think of using them. |

I can have a "shy bladder" when I need to pee for a doctor.
Try turning on the faucet. It will cut down any peeing noise and give your bladder a hint. ![]() |

This was a problem for me in school and my first work place. There was something creepy about peeing in a urinal while someone else was in the bathroom. And it was even worse when someone was waiting for me to go so he could go. A couple of times I remember not going, and then pretending like I did go just to get out of there.
But I found out that I could still use a stall and sit and pee no matter what. Anyway, if it's hearing a noise that "impedes the pee" do you think that earplugs or listening to loud music through earbuds might help? Or maybe flushing first to block out other noises? Is the problem just hearing noise, or is it the awareness of activity? Good luck! |

For us, it's so much more than a shy bladder. Most people have trouble with that at some time in their life. Mis Udy that sounds so hard...practising being safe before you go sounds like a great idea. We wish running taps and earplugs worked instead though. good luck with it 🙂
