I am going to try to explain this without sounding completely nuts.

I was abused in all forms by an ex-boyfriend 2 years ago. The only one that knows is my counselor at college. Now it took a lot to tell her what happened.. and I wont talk about it again.. but ever since I did pen up about it I have been having weird dreams. Nightmares really. It is like I am re-experiencing what happened to me... but I am watching myself. It is absolutely horrible and makes me not want to sleep.

Im I really odd or does this happen to others?

Katie.

Hi Katerenee,

You are not nuts, I think it is normal for those who have been through what you have. Scientists don't know exactly why we need to dream, but some feel it is to help emotionally process things.

If this continues, you might be experiencing the beginning of PTSD.
Is there anyway you can talk to your counselor about this, I am sure she could help you. I know you don't want to talk about it anymore, I can't blame you for that because it is so painful and hard, but it is a way to help you recover. Are you willing to see your counselor?
