I was always MADE to do housework, laundry, etc. by my mom when I was small enough that I had to stand in a chair to reach the kitchen sink faucet. We even had to fold my moms UNDERWEAR a 'certain way' and hang up and put away all of my parents clothes, etc.
Now, both me and my sister are HORRIBLE about keeping our houses clean!! I'm just wondering if it's an unconsious 'rebellion' against being forced to clean and do housework all the time when we were kids. I'm HORRIBLE about getting things done even though I KNOW I need to get off my butt and do it. For example, today I need to get in the shower and go get stamps and a med refill before my daughter gets off school at noon, but I just cant get motivated to do it, I keep thinking 'I'll do it later'. My house is a mess, I need to do the dishes and clean the LR. I've been getting new tile put in the DR and kitchen, so things are everywhere and I should be putting stuff away, but I keep putting it off, even though when I walk inside, I just look at it and GROAN! Its awful!
Any suggestions as to how to get motivated to get stuff done, instead of making excuses to myself to not do it???
