I've been having almost daily cravings to drink. There is a lot of family Christmas stress. I am having relationship and friend stress. The AA meetings are boring and the same old people tend to monopolize the shares going on for ten minutes or longer. My frustration is building and I am trying to push it back down. I am struggling one day at a time to stay sober. My sponsor is turning out to be an advice giver rather than a giver of herself. Staying sober now is hard.

I'm glad you are posting here. Holidays are very tough. If you want someone to talk to, you can always PM me here.

Have you considered a different meeting? Are you working with a therapist as well?

Staying sober through holidays

You wanna look cool, try to stay that way. Everybody's scared and has chip on their shoulder, so people around you may rub you wrong. I don't know about 12 steps, it's just too many of them. The inner nihilist, if you got any, that needs to be dealt with. You could try to size 'em up and down, stare it down and eventually, you may be siding with the one with a vision.
