I've been wiped out for two years now. I have sleep apnea and even with a cpap I'm still really tired most days. I've had blood work done for testosterone, thyroid and vitamin D, all normal. It looks like I'm stuck with this for the rest of this life, and I can only hope that it is a short life. In my case there really is no hope.

Hello Noctuary: I'm sorry you are struggling. Personally I seem to go back-&-forth between not sleeping some nights & sleeping for a long time on others. But, the up-shot of it is I never feel rested. I never have. It's hard to be positive about much of anything when one is worn out. I hope you can find the inner strength to persevere & keep searching for a remedy...

30 - 90 minutes at a time is all I have managed for more years than I care to remember. Even with all the meds for Depression and pain that cause tiredness, the pain and other issues wake me. I live in a twilight of exhaustion in all honesty, that does nothing to help the level of my Depression.
Dave.

So why keep on? What's so great about this life that's worth enduring this? I don't see anything in this world that's worth the struggle I go through.

I feel so sad for Noctuary. Until I found a med that worked I couldn't stay asleep because of hypervigilance, from post traumatic stress. Being so tired makes life seem useless, I can empathize. Please hang in there Noctuary, because some answer, some interest in something, can really really happen, just hold out for it.

It is difficult to keep on keeping on when you are very depressed, but 1-time test results do not close the book on your health situation. It's exhausting. There is hope. You don't have to take my word for it - do some poking around on the internet and you will discover a lot of info on the shortcomings of the thyroid test as well as suggestions for finding a knowledgeable health professional, etc. Could be it's not your thyroid, not Vit D, but a different physician may uncover the root cause by assessing how you are presenting, not just based on a lab print out. |
