I was just curious if you wax there? How bad is it? I mean jesus I had my eye brows done once and I almost came unglued I can not imagine the pain in my ladies area.....is it as bad as I am thinking?? And how uncomfortable/embarrassing is it going for that??
Thoughts? Opinions?? Wanna tell me how nuts I am for even pondering the question???

Oh just FYI I am NOT planning on doing it EVER for ANY reason!! It ain't happening unless I am DEAD!

Hey there, it is painful but you get over it. I have a tattoo and is kind of like a hot flash of the tattoo needle and then it is over. I much prefer to wax, not shave but it costs a lot of money. Less ingrown hairs.

Waxing is awesome.......if you can get up the courage sweetie, go for it!!!

Ummm... I agree with Bear here.

If that makes me a wuss about my -uss well then, that's OK, lol. I'll stick with shaving.

Even the mere thought of waxing it, makes me hurt... OOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUCH!!!!!

There's just no freakin' way... hell would have to freeze over a zillion times before that would happen, and I still wouldn't do it!

Although... if somebody offered me a $100,000 dollars to do it... well I guess I could put up with the pain then, lol.
Thanks for this!

I really don't think it's that bad, painwise. It hurts a bit, but it's soon done with, then just stings a tiny bit.

I taught myself how to do it, found it easy to do, although lots of people find it tricky. Ready to use wax strips are useless IMO. The main thing is not to use wax too hot (I try it on the back of my fingers first), to apply with the natural grain of the hair, apply the wax strip, hold the skin tight and rip quickly against the grain.

If you're too scared though to do it yourself, just go to a salon where you won't know anyone and then if it's that terrible, you just think about how you'll never see them again.
Thanks for this!

I have to disagree with the others. First, unless you know you never want the hair back, don't wax. I waxed my underarms and the hair grows in uneven and mangey looking now. Thankfully, it didn't seem to mess my crotch up too badly, but if I did it enough, I'd say it wouldn't grow in normally at all and I always liked having hair there soemtimes, so that is NOT for me. Too permanant of a change eventually. With that said, painwise, I have had a tattoo, and several piercings including two that are considered pretty darn painful by most people. To me, waxing part of my crotch (did it myself and did NOT finish) was worse than any of the piercings except maybe the worst two, and even then, I'd rather have had the most painful piercings done than to self wax. It didn't just sting, it was irritating, took forever, AND it made me sick when I touched the skin afterwords because it was that sensitive and irritated that touching it made my stomach roll over. Ugh. And it is a MESS. Never again. And P.S. that numbing stuff they give you to rub over it first for the at home kits, burns, and doesn't numb you for *****!

I've heard it gets easier, the more you do it. I've never done it myself, though.

As for hair growing back in a way you don't want it to, it sounds like what happened when I shaved and had a tuft of hair growing back at the top (where the outer lips meet), like a tight, little bunch of hair that wasn't soft and loose, like the hair normally is. But I kept shaving (because I hated that tuft), and eventually, it started growing back normally, and I haven't shaved since. Still, it was easier to clean, so I did like that.

Funny story...

When I was about 17 years old I decided to give myself a bikini line wax and an armpit wax (which I did myself not at a beauty salon). I first tried to pull the wax strip off as the directions said to do. Nothing came off!! The wax was still all over my bikini line and armpits. It quickly hardened and I was on the floor picking wax off of my bikini line for almost an hour or more. And even longer for my armpits. After I had removed 80% of the wax from these areas, the skin was inflammed. A couple of days later these areas were all bruised! Just imagine having bruised armpits and bikini line!!

My mom thought I had lost my mind!!

And now that I am older...the thought of having another woman that close to my "lady bits" makes me uncomfortable.
