Ok..................

So today I went to go pee and when I cleaned myself there was brownish stuff on the paper. The tissue only touched my vagina but to be sure I wiped again being careful that only my vagina touched the paper and there it was again. So I called a gyno and asked her about it. She told me that's common in women and it's usually left over from your previous cycle. Well my period is'nt due till next Saturday. I have a IUD and it is way overdue to be taken out. And I am fully on my period now. It's kind of dark red but other than that it's normal. I kinda knew I was going to start very soon because I started cramping and having tenderness in my breasts the other day. But I am still kinda worried about starting so early. And the brownish stuff just grossed me out and has me worried too. I had it before after I gave birth to my 2nd son, my first period after was like that the first 2 days. But still. Has any of you women had that? And is it normal to start a week and 2 days early? On the 31st of this month I am having my IUD reamoved and having a pap. ANyone ever had an IUD removed? Does it hurt? Do you really faint when it happens? These are embarrasing wuestions so thank you for answering then

Yep. Usually it would be brown only at the end of my cycle when the flow was light. Usually my cycle started heavy and dwindled. Sometimes it would be seven or eight days before the brown drainage was finally gone. Ain't it great being a woman? I am happily in perimenopause now with only two cycles in 2008 and one in 2009. Yay!

Hang on. When Aunt Flo stops coming by to visit doesn't mean the fun is over yet! When I heard of hot flashes I thought that meant you had intervals of being hot. But I have hot flashes and cold flashes that alternate rapidly so now I dress in layers and am constantly putting clothes on and off. And my son just laughs at me. Natural childbirth, damn it, the least he could do is show me some respect. *sigh*

I had an IUD removed. It doesn't hurt or anything. My cervix is tilted and the gyno said she had diffculty, I still didn't even notice. It's a lot less painful coming out than it does going in, that's for sure.

That's totally normal. I get it almost every month. As long as it doesn't come along with any pain (indicating maybe a cyst rupturing) I wouldn't worry. If you want to make sure though you can always go and ask for an ultrasound to make sure everything is okay. I wouldn't worry too much though.

Thanks Desirae. I was really nervous about that. I don't like people pokin around down there anyway let alone removing something. That's what kept me from getting it out when it was due to come out. But it reall ydoes calm my anxiety about pain from it.

Hi Thunderbear,

It is not uncommon to spot in between periods with an IUD......or any other hormone supplement/replacement/control......

As for having it taken out and replaced, it depends on the IUD itself.....from what I have heard it is not painful......my friend has one and she replaces it herself! The technology these days!

Take care babe......and keep in touch with your gynea......

Hugs,

Michah
